Hello friends, Yesterday, I installed mint for the first time in UEFI mode. When I boot, I see two options in BIOS. They have exactly same name. So,which one should I boot? My bios is set to uefi only and there is no other os on that hard disk. I do not dual boot. I keep my windows on a separate dri...

Re: How can I contribute to translation of support pdf?
Moved your post here. I've deduced you can write in at least three languages  Thanks for considering doing this! Translations to other languages are done by volunteers from the community of users, like yourself. You can find information to get you started in this post I made a while ago: http...

Re: Mint 14 runs hot on my laptop
How strange. I always thought overheating was more than likely due to CPU fan failure or maybe something like over dried cooling paste. I'd never heard of it connected to an instalation of a, or any, distro. I've only ever encountered that in a desktop when I inadvertantly forgot to apply paste. It...

Re: Unable to boot Mint
Well I meant D drive is for sharing data files(images, videos) of windows 7 with Mint as Mint can read ntfs but windows cannot read ext4 or other linux filesystem(at least not without any kind of software). If you created a big C drive and store all data files in My Documents ,then it is a different c...

Chromium is not stable. It has same privacy problems as Chrome. You don't know which version of it was picked by Google for Chrome. It is not updated as frequently as Chrome. It is still v14 in ubuntu repos, even Iron as jumped to v15.Iron is made by polishing Chrome and removing Google crapware. That is ...

Re: How do I disable my Touchpad?
I think it must have been shipped with Windows.Alps only supplies windows drivers and does not give enough information to Linux so that we can write any program for it.I have a Vaio laptop with same touchpad.I have to keep shipped windows 7 installed to turn it off. There is a driver you can install....

Well I am not a big fan of Chrome. But if you still are in love with it,I will recommend you srware iron.Yes,people will say it is updated very late. But Google chrome updates are of no use when Google is tracking you like a spyware.Besides there are no problems with every update.Chrome runs so many b...

Re: Left Super Key as Shortcut for Opening Menu
There is no solution to this.If you want windows like button then you will not get super+shortcuts. This is getting worse in Mint 12 as Gnome 3 is default Desktop. But you can change shortcut for show desktop.
