Re: Winecfg won't launch on upgraded Mint 20
Ok, this time I'm certain I know what the problem is and have it fixed. Hopefully this will help someone else and not resort to reinstall their OS for something stupid. This issue isn't just affecting one of my Mint 20 machines, but all of them had this happen to them. The issue is that when I updat...

Re: Winecfg won't launch on upgraded Mint 20
The problem is I have no clue as to what the problem is ... Never run into this myself, but I've noticed that when Wine breaks it's very difficult to fix, as in I rarely see anyone succeed. Seems to be a consequence of how numerous and complex the dependencies. People newly arrived from windows lik...

Always somebody who doesn't like outside packages from being installed. Always somebody who insists something should work even when they know it's not supported. Major upgrades are dicey. Surely you've been doing this long enough to know that. I know and I'm extremely lazy about erasing and f...

winetricks does work but not winecfg or regedit. None of the included wine apps seem to work.

Re: Winecfg won't launch on upgraded Mint 20
002c:fixme:winediag:LdrInitializeThunk wine-staging 5.22 is a testing version containing experimental patches. My free advice is to purge all your wine packages, remove the custom wine repos, and install wine-installer as described in the Mint release notes for your Mint version. Always somebody wh...

Winecfg won't launch on upgraded Mint 20
I upgraded a Mint 19.3 to 20 successfully and then began to reinstall Wine Staging. Everything went well except wine doesn't work. Winecfg should pop up something but nothing. I've done this before dozens of times but this is the first I've seen that Wine won't work. I'd hate to reinstall the OS jus...

Which kernel were you using in LM19 that you were not getting this noise? The latest kernel since I update a lot. I use mainline to update the kernel. And was that LM19 install working well with your equipment? It was. I'm thinking it has something to do with the power saving feature for the audio ...

Since I upgraded to Mint 20 Cinnamon I get crackling or buzzing sound out of my F9 Fury HDMI when I have too many applications running. I have to shut off some applications until the sound from like a YouTube video stops crackling. My CPU is a Ryzen 7 1700. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

How to Enable Gallium Nine for D3D9 support
This is a guide for anyone looking to install Gallium Nine for faster Direct3D 9 performance for older games. This is useful for people who are using older graphic cards that don't have Vulkan support as DXVK can now do D3D9 through D9VK. Graphic cards like the Radeon HD 5000 and 6000 series would b...

Re: need export LD_LIBRARY_PATH for .desktop shortcut
I solved the problem. I realized that I had updated the PPA from QT5.12 to 5.12.3 to 5.12.6. Doing an "apt remove qt512-meta-full" does not remove the /opt/qt512 folder. So it was just overwriting files when I updated QT. I had to do a ppa purge "sudo ppa-purge -d bionic ppa:beineri/o...

Re: need export LD_LIBRARY_PATH for .desktop shortcut
If that issue has anything to do with this thread then you are still sourcing that qt512-env.sh from some place. If its gone from /etc/profile.d than its not from there, and you will have to retrace you steps to see what it is you did. The error changes when I remove the qt512-env.sh, so I don't th...

Re: need export LD_LIBRARY_PATH for .desktop shortcut
Simply remove the file from /etc/profile.d again and make sure to reboot or at least logout and back in, then use Karlchen's method to set the required variable specifically for yuzu. I removed the file from /etc/profile.d long ago and Karlchen's method still works for Yuzu but now VLC and Dolphin ...
