[SOLVED] Missing wallpapers from previous versions
Another question: Linux Mint 17.x installation is supposed to give all the wallpapers from previous versions of Mint. However, after I upgraded from 17 to 17.1, and then from 17.1 to 17.2, I only have wallpapers from Qiana and Rafaela (my wallpapers from Rebecca disappeared). Is there a way of recov...

[SOLVED] Missing screensavers after 17.1 --> 17.2 upgrade?
Hi guys, So, I recently upgraded my 17.1 Cinnamon 64-bit to 17.2 using the Update Manager. The upgrade itself went without a hitch. However, after the upgrade, I noticed that only the Stars screensaver was installed. No other screensavers are available. Is this normal? If not, how can I get the othe...

Re: All Desktop Screenshots > 2nd Half of 2015
Your other option, if your mother INSISTS on Windows, is to install Windows as a virtual machine inside VirtualBox on a Linux Mint machine. You can then show her how to boot into Windows through VirtualBox. If she ends up trashing her Windows, no worries, all you have to do is keep a copy of the .vd...

I've never installed Wordpress, so I'm not exactly sure, but have you checked under /etc/php5/apache2 to look for your php.ini file?

Re: Can I change entry line in terminal ???
Or you can do what I do, which is to rename the menu name from "MENU" to "MATE" or "CINNAMON" as appropriate. I'm not sure how you do so in Mate, but you can do so in Cinnamon by right-clicking on the menu icon and selecting "Configure...", then changing the n...

Or, if, like me, you like a more sparse look, you can keep the Menu bar hidden by default and unhide it by hitting the Alt button.

Thank you for your insight and feedback, Ginsu543. I'm thinking of doing exactly that. While taking it a step further as Pierre suggested in another thread. Questioning whether his slow computer was due to windows 8.1 or Linux. If you'll take a look at my signature (info about my computer systems a...

Re: Stacking windows/pages
I'm in no way suggesting that you should give up trying to find a solution to your current issues, but one of the lessons I've learned since getting into Linux with Ubuntu in 2008 is that there is no shame in just reinstalling the OS when something doesn't work and I can't find a ready solution. And...

Re: some questions
Maybe I can answer question #7. You should be able to turn off password input for Screen Locker by going to System Settings --> Screen Locker and clicking off the appropriate boxes under Lock Settings. If I understand you correctly, by checking those boxes off, my screen goes to the Screen Locker sc...

Re: Folder on NAS can't be deleted - permissions?
See if you can connect directly to the drive using a USB cable (not through the network), and see if that will allow you to delete the folder. I occasionally get a similar problem with the external hard drive connected to my Netgear router which offers network access to that drive. So, it's not a de...

When you ran the installer to install Mint, did you make sure to point the bootloader to the correct hard drive during the process?
