Learn Bash. Go to http://linuxcommand.org/ and be amazed at what you can achieve. If you're bored, download Virtualbox and install Arch in a VM.

I was using LMDE XFCE on both my netbook and laptop until the other day, when I switched the netbook to Crunchbang. After the Mint dev's recent actions and reactions involving Banshee affiliate codes, I think my laptop will follow suit. I'm also doubtful of staying as a member of the Mint community...
