Fix Plymouth on both distributions in a dual boot pc

I have a dual boot pc with Linux Mint 18.1 and Fedora 25. Before installing proprietary nvidia drivers, both Mint and Fedora logos appear normally during startup. When I installed nvidia driver in Linux Mint, I had to make changes in grub as described in https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=...

Re: Could not download all repository indexes (serena) 3/21-22/17

I had the same problem, after a fresh 18.1 installation four days ago. I believe there was a server issue because the problem - mysteriously - ceased to exist today. Many people face the same problem, without managing to solve it.

Re: Boot Menu disappears on a dual boot system (Windows 10 & Linux Mint 18 Cinnamon)

For dualbooting Windows and Mint I use a program called EasyBCD for Windows. The windows MBR and Grub stay isolated in their own partitions (install grub to linux partition you create at install) and with EasyBCD you create a boot menu that allows you to select either bootloader (MBR for Windows or...

Re: Boot Menu disappears on a dual boot system (Windows 10 & Linux Mint 18 Cinnamon)

So,
I should install grub on sdb and change boot order in bios so that sdb is first boot disk?

I shall make the suggested changes and check if this solves the problem.

Thank you!

Boot Menu disappears on a dual boot system (Windows 10 & Linux Mint 18 Cinnamon)

As mentioned on topic’s title, boot menu disappears, from time to time, during pc startup. All that seems to appear is the cursor blinking on a blank black screen. Let me make a few notes on the issue: 1. The computer is not a new one, so there shouldn’t be any uefi BIOS problem. 2. CMOS battery on ...

Latest news from the western front... I've installed ubuntu 13.04 and the problem still stays on... So, probably, same thing on mint 15. I've almost decided to get a new wireless destop set (keyb & mouse). Let's hope it'll function properly. Any suggestions on which desktop sets work with no pro...

Re: Mouse and Keyboard Logitech M510 & k350

And really not up to the Mint Team to resolve proprietary keyboard or mouse issues. It's up to the manufactures to do that. So, in mint 10,11,12,13 it WAS up to the Mint Team to resolve proprietary keyboard or mouse issues (no problem at all under those distros) and now, in mint 14 it is NOT... Ιnt...

It doesn't make any sence. I have exactly the same problem with ms wireless 5000 mouse n ms wireless 6000 keyboard. The problem appeared in mint 14. Mint 13 works perfectly. I tried kernel update, but the problem remained. So, I got back to mint 13 and keep telling my friends to stay at mint 13 beca...

Re: Mint 14 & MS Wireless keyboard 6000 v2.0 / Wireless mous

Some say I should downgrade kernel to 3.2.0-33-generic. Should I do that and if so, is there a safe guide for that change?
