Right now Im using Mate. It looks good like the old gnome2 and its stable. Sometimes I'm using XFCE, but Mate is now the best solution for me.

If Im correct than you dont have any windows decorations anymore. No minimize/maximalize/close fuctions, no titlebar etc. right? to restart compiz hit ALT+F2 ( opens run window) or CTRL+ALT+T (opens terminal windows !note - if you close terminal currently running command will end instead of running ...

1. You can copy files to you HDD and then burn them to blank CD.
2. Use Brasero to copy CD. FIles are stored in tmp folder which is deleted after burn process.
3. You can rip you audio CD ( Asunder CD Ripper, Ripper for X.....) to many formats and then burn them to disc.

It wont work for you because LM 11 is not based on oneric. VLC 2.0 isn't there because its not in repository. VLC 2.0 isn't there because its not in repository. Mint 13 XFCE will be great option for me. On my older notebook: KDE - is heavy, CPU and fans running at 100% GNOME - is better but still notebook is hotter XFCE - good choise of functiaonality, is lighter and maybe i miss some gnome features LXDE - its not as funcional as XFCE and I dont like it :D ...

Its your choise. I use qbittorent for example. I didnt use Deluge because few months ago I had serious problems with him, and transmission in current versions have problems with some private trackers and ports.
