Re: VERO K146 - no trackpad
Thanks for the answer.
I have already added an SSD to the laptop.
Nevertheless, yes, not many people have managed to install even Windows there.
Thanks, anyway.
btw: It's Greek, not Russian.

VERO K146 - no trackpad
Hey, everyone. There are no drivers whatsoever for a 14.1" laptop, a VERO K146. https://www.oktabit.gr/product_details.asp?productid=249-94-VRNK146R4 I know that maybe it's a lot to ask but it's the only reason preventing me from installing Mint on it. I would appreciate the team if they could ...

Re: Platinet 720p webcam: question about connection
Thanks for the reply. Yesterday, when I tried doing that, there were no choices there. The audio was inaudible in Win10 also. I took it back where they saw that and I got another one. I'm going to try out a Trust webcam tomorrow as the PC is in my parents' home. I'll let you know how it went. Thanks...

Platinet 720p webcam: question about connection
Hello, everyone. I bought a Platinet 720p webcam yesterday and connected it to my desktop PC running Mint 20. I tried configuring it through Skype and although I have image, the sound is either too low or something is going on with the microphone settings. Mind you, this webcam has a USB cable plus ...

Re: Linux Mint 17.1 “Rebecca” Cinnamon RC released!
@davcri: Thanks for the tip. I did it but I ended up with a system that got me to the start-up screen but could not load Cinnamon, as it said. Don't know what happened there, maybe the fact that I also changed "Trusty" to "Utopic" in the source list directory broke Cinnamon. Anyw...

Those of us who are on Mint 17, can we upgrade now in order to have a look? I mean not via re-installing but on-the-spot upgrade.

Re: Cannot install k3b "You have held broken packages"
k3b installed fine on my machine as well, my friend, a few minutes ago.
Maybe the assumption that it was a server thing was right.
Thank you for the help, anyway.

There seems to be a problem with Kernel 3.13.2. Should I go back to 3.13?

Cannot install k3b "You have held broken packages"
Hi, everyone. I'm trying to install k3b on Mint Qiana but in Terminal and Synaptic I get this message: E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages. E: Unable to correct dependencies E: Error...

Re: Linux Mint 17 "Qiana" Cinnamon is out!
My friend, you have probably misinterpreted what I said and that's why I hadn't aired my view until now. If I knew how to fix isuues about anything in Linux, I would have already contributed, have no doubt about that. It's just that every time I upgraded in Ubuntu, nothing got messed up, but when I ...

Re: Linux Mint 17 "Qiana" Cinnamon is out!
Many thanks to Clem and the team for working so hard for this release. As far as I've seen it looks and feels amazing, but being a Mint fan for almost 7 years now, allow me one comment. I understand that Mint, and especially the Cinnamon edition, has taken a new direction since Petra, and I think th...

Re: Cannot install Mint 16 on Gigabyte Z87X-D3H motherboard?
Thank you for the answer, my friend.
It's an Intel i5@3.2 GHz and an NVidia GT630. The latter I have installed on my PC with no issues whatsoever.
Nevertheless, my connection is via HDMI whereas my friend's is via DVI.

Cannot install Mint 16 on Gigabyte Z87X-D3H motherboard?
Good morning, everyone, and happy new year. A friend of mine bought the Gigabyte Z87X-D3H motherboard as a result of his attempt to upgrade his old PC. After we installed Windows 8.1 due to his need for specialised tools because of his work, we tried to install Mint 16 Cinnamon on the same system, r...

Many thanks, akatonomastos (ευχαριστώ, φίλε μου).
I seemed to remember that something had to be done in the Preferences dialog, but I couldn't remember the exact thing.
Many thanks to everybody for the answers.

No preview thumbnails in video files
Hi, everyone.
Does anyone know why we don't have preview thumbnails in video files like .avi or .mp4 in Nemo in Mint 16?
I only see the orange preview icon.
Many thanks.
