@Cosmo hi, thx for persevering ... !! - the top panel (on the left) contains the group windows - plus where programs added to the panel go. ... in v20.3, I was able to also show the minimised programs (e.g. opened and then minimised) on the original panel along the bottom of the screen. => so affect...

another way of putting it would be : is it possible to direct minimised progs to my original panel (along the bottom bar), rather than them go to my 2nd panel (top of screen)
