Re: Mint 12 Tips & Tricks Guide (updated Jan 10)

Absolutely awesome guide!

Thanks for all of your hard work.

I'm crossing my fingers that you'll do something similar / update this for Mint 13!

Thanks again

boot mgr missing - trying to install from USB

I've downloaded Mint 13 to install via a USB onto my laptop. I used my main PC (Win 7) and unetbootin to get the iso onto the USB as I've done before but when booting from the USB it says boot mgr missing. I'm re-downoading the iso as I won't be home for a few days but it's downloading at 32kb/s :( ...

Re: Deleting files from a flash drive

Mint 12

Win 7

What do you mean by file manager? I know the words but not what you're asking... you can call me 'super-n00b' :) It's the default one that came with Mint 12.

Thanks

Deleting files from a flash drive

I've searched for an answer but a) didn't understand the replies and b) the problems (and therefore the solutions) weren't quite the same. Whenever I delete files from a flash drive on my Linux laptop and then plug the drive into my Windows machine, the files haven't been deleted. They've been moved...

How to upgrade Mint 12 to 13?

Hello.

This question is def. a bit stupid so figure this is the correct place to post.

Is it possible to upgrade to Mint 13 from 12 without doing a clean install?

if so, how?

Thanks a lot,

Mike

Compaq Presario / Mint 12 wifi "firmware missing"

Hello, I've installed Mint seamlessly on numerous laptops (5) recently but having installed it on a Compaq Presario V2000, I can't connect to the wifi. It says "firmware missing". I've connected to the internet with a wired connection and installed all updates since the install, but it didnt' sort t...

Re: How to make the terminal autostart at startup

Not trying to intrude on anything, as gnome-terminal is great to work with, but maybe you would like to check out guake . It's a process that will always run in the background and is accessable by merely pressing F12 (default, can be changed) and be done with it pressing the same key :) Using it fo...

How to make the terminal autostart at startup

Hi there, I'm pretty new to any kind of Linux distro and am trying to get the terminal to run at start up. I've got the start up application preferences and click add. I realise that the command box needs to be filled with the location of the software - I guess that if I was doing it for a Windows m...
