Re: No HVEC H.265 video playback in M17
VLC kinda falls over as soon as it starts - flickers on and is then gone as if never launched. This is by selecting 'open with'. SMplayer and mpv will both play audio of the same file but no video.

No HVEC H.265 video playback in M17
I'm unable to play .265 encoded video at the moment. SMPlayer plays audio only. I installed mpv a couple of days ago and upgraded vlc to the latest - neither works for 265. The vlc265 library is present according to Package Manager. What am I missing? What do I need to do to get .265 video playing? ...

Re: How do I upgrade to vlc2.2
Having the same issue as the OP did... I did the VLC update and it went from giving me a message about being unable to play the stream to kind of crashing as soon it starts. It doesn't even start really, just kind of appears on the panel and flickers on the screen for a second. This is only when att...

Hi "PiMinto", I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well. 1.) I'm sure there are free online websites that will allow you to convert these files into other formats, if you want. https://www.google.com/search?sclient=psy-ab&btnG=Search&q=...

Re: SoundConverter unable to convert Musepack (.mpc) files
Hoser Rob - SC is version 2.1.1
Flemur, thanks I'd be happy to try that... sorry if this is a dumb question but how does one record the stream that's playing?

SoundConverter unable to convert Musepack (.mpc) files
I get an error saying "GStreamer Error: Unable to decode stream" when I try to convert .mpc to .mp3. What do I need to do to make it work? I have libmpcdec6 installed. .mpc files do play in Audacious.

Software for slowing down audio
Audacious has this feature but in recent versions it's gone bad. Is it possible to downgrade Audacious? Is there other software someone could recommend that can slow down mp3s?

Desktop settings not changing after file edit
I'm editing /usr/share/cinnamon/theme/cinnamon.css to change the panel appearance as I normally do but the settings are not taking effect. I'm opening it as root and the changes are saving in the file itself. This is on a laptop, and the display is an external monitor, I don't know if that would aff...

Re: Software manager not managing much
I reinstalled and this time formatted all the partitions first. My bad, should've done that first time around because everything is working now. I think there were settings being left somewhere.

Performance benchmarking software?
I'm using Mint 17 atm and I seem to remember in an older version having a default program that did some benchmark tests and provided various system ratings. I can't seem to find it today. Am I going mad or has it been taken away? Any substitutes recommended?

Thanks, I've tried this though, several times. It won't let me edit the subject field, only the main post.Spearmint2 wrote: To edit a post, you need to clk on the edit button for that particular post, while signed in of course.
