Unable to connect/pair bluetooth device (Realtek)

Hi, I'm having some trouble with a brand new laptop with a fresh install of Linux Mint KDE 18.1 Serena - it is able to see bluetooth devices but not connect or pair with them. Buetooth devices show up in "Available Devices" as series of alphanumerics, for example, 68-64-4B-5B-19-A5, but when I click...

Re: cryptkeeper - unable to launch

Re: cryptkeeper - unable to launch

thanks cosmo, but there is no tray icon, that's the problem! and when I try to add one by right clicking on the tray icon and choosing 'add' there is no option for GEM I've looked and looked but obviously I'm missing something because there is nothing at all that even hints at an icon or a way to ad...

Re: cryptkeeper - unable to launch

I did some searching and it seems I have the same issue as this person: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=194666 but the thread doesn't have a clear explanation of how that issue was resolved in the end. just that it was some issue with the tray/panel and the icon not showing up there. I'...

Re: cryptkeeper - unable to launch

thanks, I installed GEM using: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gencfsm && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y install gnome-encfs-manager and it seems to have installed correctly. I tried it out and it did work but the next time I tried to use it, the program doesn't seem to do anything. I think it i...

Re: cryptkeeper - unable to launch

thank you. is there a way to fix cryptkeeper so I can continue to use it instead of installing GEncfsM my concern is that the developers advise against using it as I have used cryptkeeper: “Please don’t treat GEncfsM as yet another graphical frontend for encfs. GEncfsM is meant to be run more like a...

Re: cryptkeeper - unable to launch

if I install gnome-encfs-manager would that cause a problem with any existing folders which I've already included in cryptkeeper?

Re: How can i install VPN for Linux Mint 17.2?

most reputable vpn providers will provide you with a guide and detailed instructions because it depends what exactly you're using, for example: openvpn, openvpn over ssh, openvpn over ssl, etc. best option is to contact your vpn provider and ask them how to implement it on linux, you're not their fi...

Physically move HDD from one PC to another?

I know this doesn't work with windows because the OS is bound to the hardware it was installed on but I'm wondering if it will for linux. To be clear, what I mean is physically removing a HDD or SSD with an installed linux mint OS from one laptop or desktop and inserting it into another. Will it boo...

Re: how to uninstall light? (a lightweight firefox build)

You didn't use apt-get to install the package, so there's no record of it being installed, so there's no option for automatic removal. I think the -C / on the end of the Step 4 sudo tar command has unpacked it into your system, as root. So, you leave the thing installed, or hunt down each component...

Re: After /home encryption, unable to login

thanks, if it isn't a blocking message which doesn't seemingly affect the computer from operating normally and we can't figure out how to solve it, let's move on to the original issue: encrypting /home (swap I believe is already encrypted, right?) here's the output of the command you requested: ~ $ ...
