Re: Medion AKOYA laptop Failing to connect to WiFi
An addition to add to the puzzle. The WiFi authorization blocks the Ethernet connection. I have to cancel the WiFi authorization for the Ethernet to connect!

Medion AKOYA laptop Failing to connect to WiFi
I'm running Linux Mint 21.2 Mate 64 bit on a Medion AKOYA laptop which connects to Ethernet and to two mobile phone hot spots OK, but won't connect to the D-Link DSL-2888A modem. Same issue with LM 21.1 Mate. Another more recent laptop connects no problem. I've included $ inxi -Fxpmrz, $ rfkill list...

(Solved) Restore booting password
I've installed Linux Mint 21 Mate without the password being needed for booting.
I now wish to reverse that position and restore the password needed for booting.
Is there an easier way to restore booting requiring the password rather that a reinstall?

The plot thickens. No problems PM today with two other local providers using same laptop.
Sounding like it's getting a tad complicated.

Re: Update Manager -- Software Sources - Showing - 0 kB/s speeds -- ??
Hi Cosmo.
Makes me wonder as well. I'm just pointing out what i see as an error some where in the code / system Nothing more.
There are obvious workarounds. Just try to be helpful.

Did a live re-install of LM 21 Mate - and the problem is evident with;
All Ubuntu Mirrors Base (jammy) showing 0 kB/s and
all Mint Mirrors Main (vera) showing Unreachable
The Base, Main and local site were available.

Update Manager -- Software Sources - Showing - 0 kB/s speeds -- ??
I've installed LM 21 Mate from a USB ISO and Linux Mint source using Mirrors Main (vera) http:// package.linuxmint.com and Basic (jammy) http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu. I've then updated to LM 21.1 using the same mirrors. Software Sources then suggested I should change to local mirrors to get quic...

Re: LM 20.3 Una ??
Following return to normal login, Thunderbird window minimised correctly, but not Firefox nor Chromium. karlchen's suggestion: Re-added Windows List applet to bottom panel -- and whoo, bottom panel filled up with windows that I'd been in for the last few days! the missing ones? Ones I hadn't noticed...

LM 20.3 Una ??
Thanks Cosmo
Your correct, logged into the new account and the min function works as normal, leaving the minimised page on the bottom panel and not closing it.
I'm running Mate.
So, what next?

(Solved) LM 20.3 Una: - no longer means minimise but CLOSE!
Ooops: - no longer means minimise for Firefox, Chromium, LibreOffice apps but CLOSE! Change appears to have occurred since Friday 30 Mar. Unfortunately I don't have a snapshot for 30 Mar 23 to prove the point. Also the ability to upgrade to LM 21.1 Vera has disappeared from the Welcome screen. Can t...
