Re: Cinnamon constantly crashes after update to kernel 4.15.0-24

Same happens for me, 24 only works if I keep things awake by using the mouse continuously as it boots up. Reverted back to 23 and everything works fine. Hoping 25 comes out soon and does not have the problem 24 has. I can confirm 23 works great.

Re: Linux Mint 19 "Tara" Xfce released!

I have got gdebi to work, using synaptic. I did the following: Remove gdebi and gdebi-core. Load gdebi-core but force it to be the bionic version. Then I locked it. Load gdebi but force it to be the bionic version. Then I locked it. Opened Thunar as root user. Installing Ubuntu cleaner deb file work...

Re: Linux Mint 19 "Tara" Xfce released!

Ok, I will do. I will wait until the update manager gives me the option to upgrade from 18.3 to 19. All my software is on 18.3 and is fine, so if that works then I don’t need gdebi.

Thanks.

Re: Linux Mint 19 "Tara" Xfce released!

The deb files are ok as they worked with Ubuntu bionic. As I prefer linux mint, I wanted to install them on Tara. For example, I use Ubuntu cleaner and wanted to install its deb file. The error I see is after clicking the ‘install package’ button is: An unhandled error occurred. There appears to be ...

Re: Linux Mint 19 "Tara" Xfce released!

No, it was a clean install as well, but gdebi failed, with an apt failure. I get an apt failure message. On my 18.3 I have the option “Open with software install”, when right clicking the deb file. Any ideas how that was in 18.3? How can I get it into 19? You said gdebi worked for you, was that on t...

Re: Monthly News – May 2018

I got gdebi working by running the file manager as root and then doing ‘install package’. Hope this helps as a workaround.

The only problem I found is that mint update takes a minute longer than 16.04 used to using the same mirrors.

Just wait for Linux Mint 19, it is working nicely in the beta version.

.9.13.1 includes all the features that were in the .8.x.x stream, and is very stable for me.

Re: Anybody knows if Mint 18.2 Sonya will have MATE 1.18 or 1.16 ???

I think it is ready as it is in the 'Linux Mint 18.2 [Implemented]' section in the roadmap. I have tried Mate 1.18 using a Manjaro Mate release, it works great and is not beta.

http://tipsonubuntu.com/2017/03/15/inst ... ntu-16-04/ Might work for you but I have not tried it.

Re: Nemo auto mount not working

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried various things with no success. My main desktop is MATE and that is working great but I have concerns about Compiz breaking things in 17.3 or 18, and so decided to try Cinnamon out on a spare PC. I am unsure why automounting stopped working when it worked fine...

Nemo auto mount not working

I am trying out cinnamon and so far having an interesting experience. However one strange thing, nemo has stopped auto mounting automatically, and it was yesterday. I am not sure what has changed. The dconf settings have not changed with automount being checked on org gnome desktop media-handling an...
