ATI Video Drivers
Hi! I installed mint 13 XFCE on my older laptop for the kids, a Compaq R4000 that is still going strong. Before, under additional drivers I could select the ATI video driver, and it would install and life is good. Under Mint 13, there is no ATI driver listed there, and it is heating up a lot, like i...

Re: About Maya b43 solution
did you install it in safe mode? I did and had the same error. I then gave up and went back to the last LTS. I may give it another try when xfce version is released, however i had same issues with xubuntu 12.4.

Thanks Gutknecht, that got my WIFI up and running.
However it still crashes on the install after it tells me im ok for space, internet connection, and plugged in.
I installed in safe mode, but when i boot it after installing, it says x is not configured.
Arghhh any ideas?

Still same issue with release. Anyone got a broadcom wifi to work? I have found a couple ubuntu 12.04 posts on it, but they have not helped.

Re: Linux Mint 12 "Lisa" released!
I think Mint 12 should of spent more time in RC for testing. IMHO this is a big step back from the high quality releases that Mint has had in the past. I have been an avid Mint user for years, allowing me to remove all MS os/apps of my home pc's, so im no light user. However Mint 12 has put me back ...

Mint 12 Online Account integration
I got myself a hot off the presses Mint 12 64 bit iso, and installed. I have spent considerable time wrapping my head around the new Gnome3 layout, and how the settings are in different area, even turned of the bottom panel to be more "Gnome3" ish. I have read a lot of Gnome 3 haters and l...

Re: Mint 11 64 wont burn DVD's
Sorry for the delay. It will not burn dvd's or cd's. If I boot mint 10 64 bit (another partition) i have no issues. Here is my log(few lines cut, to long of a post), thanks: Checking session consistency (brasero_burn_check_session_consistency brasero-burn.c:1744) ... BraseroChecksumFiles called bras...

Mint 11 64 wont burn DVD's
Im trying to burn data DVD's on my fresh install of mint 11 64 bit. Brasero, K3B and gnomebaker all wont burn, and in the process eat cd's. I booted back up mint 10 64, and i can burn without any issues.
I seen a couple errors on permissions on k3b. Anyone else have any issues?
Thanks
Arron

Mint 9 and ATI video
I have an older laptop with an ATI Radeon 200m video card. There is a few Linux based games i have always loved to play on this laptop, and have done so in mint 8 and earlier. The video drivers for mint 8 and below were simple, after install the "Hardware Drivers" would pop up and say ther...

Linux & Blu-Ray
I know for some this is a hot topic, so I will try to be nice. Does Mint/*buntu support Blu-Ray? I heard rumors about MPlayer playing BR without any hacks/add ons, is this true, or another easy out of the box solution? I would like to get a BR player for my Mint mediapc and start enjoying BR movies ...

It would be nice for nautilus to have a center point to manage all the shares setup by nautilus right clicking.

Re: Managing Nautalis
Sorry, thought I mentioned I used the right click nautilus way to share. Is there a gui to manage /var/lib/samba/usershares?
Im getting stuck on the nice gui way vs the old school way, Mint is spoiling me. Must be my old age.

Managing Nautalis [SOLVED]
Is there some central point to manage nautilus samba shares?
I want to remove a shared folder and its not apparent where it is. I have installed system-config-samba but i guess this is for samba shares only, and the nautilus right click way of sharing does not show on this.
Thanks
