Re: FATAL SECURITY FLAW - Still No Full Disk Encryption
I agree that FDE is a must-have feature--a deal-breaker for me. I left Mint for Lubuntu and Xubuntu a year ago over this deficiency, but am now back to Mint because (a) I like Mint and (b) an encrypted LVM is easy to set up--see http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/1166 for an easy four-step...

Re: Mint 15 Mate Screensaver/Display Idle dimming
If you go to usr/share/applications/ right-click on 'screensaver' and select 'Open as administrator', you will find that the setting is for 10 minutes for root. I unchecked this and seems to have taken care of the problem. Mint 15, Mate 32-bit Mike Cebula That fixed it for me--thanks! Linux Mint 15...

Re: Add Option of Full Disk Encryption to all future Linux M
I just went back to ubuntu 12.04 for my laptop because there is simply no way I'm carrying a laptop around w/o encrypted LVMs. Encrypting the home directory is nice, but that's not the whole disk, and passwords typically have less entropy than passphrases.

Does anyone know if this is solved in PulseAudio 1.2? It appears that precise uses 1.1.1. Thanks!

Re: Dragging window issue
I don't think it's inherent in Mint since Gnome Classic (no effects) doesn't have this bug. I bump my window against the top often enough that if I can't figure out how to make it not spuriously maximize then I'll go back to Gnome Classic. Also, I don't think it's hot corners, because I still get th...

I've also removed zeitgeist as it appears to be spyware.

Re: Desktop shortcuts
A simple way to do this is to log in via Mate and create the shortcuts there, and then then next time in Gnome 3 the shortcuts should still be there.
Once you've done this once, you can manually edit shortcut files in your Desktop directory using existing ones as examples.
