Re: Which is the Parent Linux OS that all Distros build from? Noticed 2 bugs that may trickle down to other distros

Hiya SirRon, As alluded to in an earlier response, as this is an issue that does not appear to be replicated by all users across all distos I would have thought your concerns are more likely to stem from your specific setup/hardware/configuration. Perhaps you would be better served trying to resolve...

checksum (Solved)

Could someone clarify / explain the way checksum works. Would/could there be a way of malicious code be inserted (at a mirror for example) into a copy of an O/S along with a valid checksum? Or have I completely misunderstood?

Re: Hate to see debian login pop up

hiya, Are you able to post a picture of what you're now seeing. Hard to imagine that a debian logo would have come from anything other than a debian o/s / image. Have you installed LMDE3?

Re: Unable to install Linux Mint

hiya, Just to pick up on that last point. Should you get to the point of installing there is a default setting where you can let the system allocate a partition layout. I would not think that this is your issue. More likely as suggested the version chosen is too "heavy" for your machine.
