Re: Mint pairs with my bluethooth devices but does not connect.

And just a note, based on this from your linked article: > To make your headset auto connect you need to enable PulseAudio's switch-on-connect module. Do this by adding the following lines to /etc/pulse/default.pa: # automatically switch to newly-connected devices load-module module-switch-on-connec...

Re: Mint pairs with my bluethooth devices but does not connect.

Thx MrEen. I read your link , which is helpful. Syslog entry that led him to add his device to "trusted" list was: Authentication attempt without agent No such entry in my syslog. I repeated my connect procedure I described before to see what recorded in my syslog, and got this: Aug 6 21:25:39 HP bl...

Re: Mint pairs with my bluethooth devices but does not connect.

You can connect and have them working, but it's a hassle to do so, correct? Yes. Mint pairs as soon as I turn on the buds, but does not connect. Bluetooth applet has an option to connect: it does so after multiple attempts (usually), occasionally I have to reboot Setting the device as trusted might...

Re: Mint pairs with my bluethooth devices but does not connect.

Hi, Thx for reply. I'm not a Linux guru (yet), but seems to me that was a bit different problem. Here's my output you requested from him: $ pacmd list-cards 3 card(s) available. index: 0 name: <alsa_card.pci-0000_00_01.1> driver: <module-alsa-card.c> owner module: 7 properties: alsa.card = "0" alsa....

[SOLVED] Lost (taskbar) Panel

Hello,

Running 19.3 Tricia Cinnamon.

I inadvertently lost my main panel. I intended to remove an icon for an uninstalled program and somehow lost my panel. So I have no way on my desktop to access "Menu". How can I get it back?

Thx

Re: Malicious keylogger?

Hi, Yes, I know it was a scam and ignored for months when return email was my own. This one used return email from my email contact list, that's what concerned me. PhilippeH » Thu Jun 13, 2019 3:02 am Faking your email as a sender is easy, but getting your contacts is not, and could be the sign that...

Malicious keylogger?

Hi, I have been receiving spam for a while from hacker who claims to have installed a keyboard logger on my system. Says my computer was infected from a **** site (I never view them). I never worried about it much: he (?) always sent spam with my email address and I know this is easy to do. He wants...

Re: No Wireless for HP Laptop

I just solved same problem with a new HP laptop over last few days, described in this thread: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=294333 . Might be worth a read if you have a Realtek chipset. In short based on what I learned (Google turned up a lot of links that I tried but did not wor...

<SOLVED> Re: 19.1 Installation problems: no wireless connection

Probably an RTL8723DE chipset. Try the driver from lwfinger (extended edition): https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.c ... k.html#ID8 (item 8 ) As it's an HP, you might afterwards also need to do this: https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.c ... k.html#ID2 Works great. After doing 2nd step, I have...

Re: 19.1 Installation problems: no wireless connection

1. Establish temporary internet connection by other means;
2. Update Manager - panel: View - Linux kernels
Install the latest kernel of the 5.0 series. Then reboot.
Ok, did that with another fresh install. Did not work.

Any suggestions?

see what I can find w/Google.

SOLVED Re: Mint 19.1 Cinamon boot problem

Finally, and this might be the better option to try first, open a terminal, sudo su, followed by cp [PATH] /[NEW_HOME_PATH], then do this when you boot into the new installation:
Thanks, this option worked fine.

Still a bit curious what may have cased initial failure I described in 1st post
