BUG: Mint 19 installation leaves incorrectly set up Grub
Hi, I was installing Mint19 Cinnamon edition on Lenovo Ideapad U310 of my friend. Installation went well, but machine does not boot, because there is misconfigured Grub. /etc/default/grub file has this line inside GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="ignore_bootid live-media-path=/multibootusb/linuxmint-19.1-ci...

Re: Prevent showing file size on desktop
Thanks, both of you. That solved the problem. I do not use Nemo, so I was not familiar with its settings.

Prevent showing file size on desktop
Hi, I have weird issue and I am unable to come up with search terms that would yield relevant results. It is probably some stupid setting somewhere, but I can't find the solution. Please see attached picture. When file is saved on desktop, it shows its size. If it is a folder, it shows nr. of files ...

Re: Scanner
I am now trying to install the same scanner. Looking at your link, it is there listed as supported. Also, this scanner worked out of the box on previous versions of Mint.

Re: How do I get music player icon back to system tray?
Aha, ok, that did the trick. That was the part I misunderstood that the old systray must be removed first.
Thank you very much.

Re: How do I get music player icon back to system tray?
Maybe I am not getting it at all, but ... 1) I tried your applet, installed it, added it to panel and could not see anything, just icons moved a bit to the left. I could not click anything, not did I noticed any visual change. Am I doing something wrong? It does not seem to be working on my machine....

How do I get music player icon back to system tray?
After upgrade of Cinnamon (I believe it was somewhere between 2.0.6 and 2.0.8 ) I can not get my Clementine icon to system tray. It was there before, but now it is not. Instead sound applet changes it's icon to note and I can control Clementine from there. The issue is that I am used to adjust volum...

[Workaround] Strange font issue in KDE apps under Cinnamon
Hello. I am installing Mint 15 64bit Cinnamon edition on my friend's computer. There is a strange font issue in KDE applications. In number fields of application settings it looks like some strange font is used. It is a bit hard to explain, so please have a look at these screenshots. [url]http://min...

Re: Cinnamon misplaced objects
Yes I did! :) If the panel is anchored on the left top corner OF THE PANEL then if you make it smaller, it will keep the LEFT TOP CORNER of the panel in place and create empty space underneath. The desired behaviour is that the bottom panel is anchored on a bottom part and top panel on the top part....

Re: Cinnamon misplaced objects
I believe this is exactly the problem I do have.
i tried to change the size in cinnamon.css but the panel seems to have its anchor point top-left.

Panel on bottom needs to be anchored on bottom.

Re: Cinnamon misplaced objects
It seems that the panel problem is already known issue and it is approved. So I guess it will be fixed in next release.

Re: Cinnamon misplaced objects
icon-size tag did not seem to have any effect. I tried several values. Icons still have various sizes, Pidgin is smaller and moved up a bit.
Regarding the space under panel - I also think it is a bug not a theme problem. Is there any cinnamon bugzilla? Where do I report this?

Re: Cinnamon misplaced objects
Thank you for your quick reply. @panel size - I edited manually cinnamon.css in Baldr theme directory and set panel height from 1.99 to 1.59 (I guess). With default settings, this works fine, but I would just like to have panel a bit smaller. It is too big for my taste. After doing that, I would exp...

And quite annoying if you accidentally move mouse there. I prefer the click.carloss wrote:Suggestion: show the main menu by just hovering over its icon (lower left corner of the screen), so that we wouldn't need to click on it. That would be an even faster and easier operation.

The only two effects I really care for in compiz (and the reason I use it) are placement of windows and windows tiling. It would be sweet if this supports similar functionality.

Re: Another DE option for Mint 12 - Cinnamon
Hello guys, my first post here. I registered just to post this. I am not a Mint user, I am on Arch, but Mint would be my second choice and I always check on Mint to get some great theme ideas. I am very excited about Cinnamon. If this makes it to my desktop I might want to switch back to Gnome from ...
