Re: Libreoffice missing menus in XFCE4

It's only XFCE4. It works in KDE, Cinnamon, Openbox and LXDE
Just installed LIbreoffice 5.0 and still the same problem
I have stuck with KDE for a long time, but I had some gripes with it recently and decided to go back to XFCE4

Libreoffice missing menus in XFCE4

I have Linux Mint 17.2 64 bit originally a KDE install. I installed XFCE4 and other desktops recently, but Libreoffice is not showing the Menus at the top of the screen after installing libreoffice-gtk. Without this package, menus are shown, but ugly. Checking an existing working install this packag...

Re: LM Ubuntu vs Debian

You will not get the best stability from a rolling release due to the constant change of software. Lmde endeavors to get better stability with a semi rolling release, but it won't be as stable as a system that is not rolling. I can't really comment on speed as I found LMDE faster. How did you measur...

Re: Re: Kernel upgrade - Unable to create nvidia module

I think they will show up in mint update if you make changes to what updates are shown. I think kernel updates are level 4 and not shown by default They do indeed show up in mint update. There is a nice Linux Kernels dialog that shows what you have installed. What I wanted to do was add a ppa use a...

Re: Kernel upgrade - Unable to create nvidia module

I have dkms installed. I am hoping to keep the kernel reasonably current as btrfs becomes more stable with each release (in theory 8-)) Is there a PPA for kernels? I think there was once, but didn't find one.

re: Kernel upgrade - Unable to create nvidia module

Thanks for replying. Yes it was the nvidia driver borking when trying to create the kernel module. I found https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa for the nvidia install and it worked very well. Now on 3.14.1-031401-generic and 304.121-0ubuntu1~xedgers14.04.2 All good Coming from Debian test...

Re: Mount warnings on Boot

I am seeing the same errors on boot up. Looking at the /run it is a link to /var/run. The system is running properly and /var/run seems to contain all the folders.
