Don't worry, he's joking. He always does that.
EDIT: I realized just now that you answered yourself.
The problem is widely discussed in the Ubuntu Forums. I don't know if there's a solution yet, but try to do a search there.

No. The ubuntu alternate CD is identical to the normal CD except from the text-based installer.
But why don't you mirror the repositories to a USB stick?

Re: ReadyBoost
Couldn't you made up something like ReadyBoost in Vista? ReadyBoost is a stupid thing Windows came up to make us waste flash drives, for some mysterious marketing reason. It would be faster to add swap space to the hard drive, than to use a USB flash drive. This is because, even if flash memory is ...

Re: Banshee for Mint 5?
I made a mistake with Banshee. The ubuntu package is only the 0.13 version. I just downloaded the 0.99.1. It's AWESOME. It's definitely better than the others.

Re: POLL! - Do you want mintTools in a separate menu entry?
NO. I want them to not be named after Linux Mint. They must be called 'update manager' 'install software' and so on. This improves integration.

I understand, but there isn't any way to revert it to the previous behaviour? A checkbox in gconf would be appreciated.

Re: Banshee for Mint 5?
From a poll I made in Ubuntu Forums, Rythmbox is the most popular gtk player (obviously the kde one is amarok). It's only the most popular. Non necessairly the best. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=4693306 I tried them all, the music managers. I'll discard Exaile, it tries to be a clone of ...

Re: Complete Graphical Overhaul for Mint 6.0
The thing with setting guidelines for themes is that it is very subjective, some ppl prefer lighter themes, while others, such as myself, prefer a darker theme. The trick is finding one that looks good all around. If you make a theme that looks good with particular icon set, it is a good idea to pu...
