I like Quintessa, Querida and Quentina. :)

Re: Mint 13 KDE self-created Autostart Problem

I'm sorry to have left you hanging without a proper answer, but I'm really out of ideas and I didn't want to just randomly suggest stuff without having properly researched the problem. :| Have you tried creating a new user? This can be done from the console relatively easily. The new user will have ...

Re: Error - Update Manager does not work

Just when typing - sudo apt-get update - into terminal I get at the end the following: '' W: Failed to fetch http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/natty/main/binary-amd64/Packages 404 Not Found E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead. '' This happens...

Re: Error when updating.

You need to edit your sources.list file. sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list (or replace gedit with the name of your preferred text editor) In lines which contain http://archive.removed/ubuntu/dists/nadia-removed/games/binary-amd64/ http://archive.removed/ubuntu/dists/nadia-removed/games/binary-i386/ r...

Can you post the output of your cinnamon.css file?

In terminal, type: cat /usr/share/cinnamon/theme/cinnamon.css

Re: changing log on options

I suppose you're using the MDM Login Manager. Have you tried changing the settings of your login manager? They should be accessible via Administration > Login Window or something similar, I'm not sure because I use KDE and it's a bit different here. If this doesn't work, I can tell you how to manual...

Re: Mint 13 KDE self-created Autostart Problem

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize you were unable to access System Settings. :? Are you sure this script is the only thing you removed? Because from what I see, the script controls the look and behavior of GTK apps and it shouldn't have such a devastating effect on the entire KDE system. Anyway, you can t...

Re: Adding Google?

Try adding search plugins from this page: http://mycroftproject.com/search-engines.html

You just click on the ones you want to add, they should install automatically.

Re: Mint 13 KDE self-created Autostart Problem

Can't you just re-add the script via Autostart, like you removed it? The path should be /usr/share/mintkde-default-settings/gtk2-default-theme.rc.sh (I'm also using Mint 13 KDE and it's the same here). So in Autostart, try clicking Add Script, paste the path and if prompted, set it to run on Pre-KDE...

Recently I tried to update to the newer MyPaint and after getting the ppa etc I got this message: E: Type 'ain' is not known on line 3 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/achadwick-mypaint-testing-natty.list You've encountered a bug - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-properties...

Re: Font Size In Synaptic

Probably because Synaptic is a GTK application and you need to install additional packages to control the look&feel of GTK apps under KDE. I have two packages installed for this purpose: kde-gtk-config and kde-config-gtk (yeah, I know - someone really worked hard to name them lol). However, there se...

Re: Startx automatically (KDE 4.10 & Mint13KDE 64 & ATI), ho

The same thing is happening to me since I upgraded to KDE 4.10 (I also have Mint 13). Out of 5 boots, maybe once it loads KDM; otherwise I have to login via the console and either run startx or sudo service kdm restart. I've tried to reconfigure AND reinstall kdm, but nothing helps. If anyone has an...

OpenShot and LiVES worked great for me, I prefer the latter. Both are free, I don't use proprietary software. Too bad you don't remember which ones you tried, but I definitely recommend LiVES.

Sorry I didn't get back to you on this, I ran out of ideas :( I was hoping someone else would come up with a solution, but no luck so far. If I do think of something, I'll let you know, but unfortunately I'm not so savvy when it comes to hardware problems :(
