It should work just work. I'm not sure why you installed this other driver. ath9k supports that chipset. In any case make sure your wifi and networking are enabled. Maybe you accidentally disabled it (applet in the top right hand corner). If it is enabled maybe there was an update that broke it. Try...

Are you sure it is connected to the network? Is there any possibility the printer is defective? Which printer do you have exactly? That might help determine if others are having a problem and what might be done to resolve it.
