If your hardware is recent, press F10(or whatever relevent key) to get a boot list for the live usb. Select the entry with UEFI mode. Also, if it's a BIOS-UEFI board, enable UEFI mode and try.

Also, list the hardware details, including graphics card and monitor resolution.
