Re: (SOLVED) Realtek RTL8192cu help

Unless I missed the latest drivers part. I went to the realtek site and downloaded what they had there as most recent. I'm a complete N00B at this, but so far I like a lot what I see in Mint. Trying to learn and coming to terms with it. Thanks. Before you know it, you'll be telling other people on ...

Re: (SOLVED) Realtek RTL8192cu help

I'm not into Mint lately, just SolydXK, so I can't really test this for you.
However, I see that you have the latest kernel. Did you use the latest drivers as well?

Re: [Solved] Mouse Cursor Disappears after Zoom in LMDE KDE

Since the "The unofficial LMDE KDE UP6" thread was locked, and since I hate to leave an issue unresolved, I found a solution to an issue I was having: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=121058&start=100#p692905 When using Zoom (Meta-+, Meta--, Meta-0), then going bac...

Re: Unable to install ATI driver

Does this make any difference: sudo aticonfig --adapter=all --initial -f I would like to know if the above command would also work on a single gpu ATI card (it would make adapting DDM for hybrid cards a lot easier). NO it didn't Well, that's exactly what I suspected. So, DDM checks on the number of...

Re: The unofficial LMDE KDE UP6

Sorry, I can't seem to be able to reproduce that.
Are you running UP6?
Could you post the output of:

Code: Select all

inxi -F

Perhaps something with your graphics driver / card...

Re: The unofficial LMDE KDE UP6

Schoelje, now that you have your own distro, I'm wondering where that leaves LMDE KDE (and Lxde). Also, your website's About page states, "SolydXK and Linux Mint closely work together to make our distributions even better." Would you care to elaborate, please? Clem is going to communicate...

Re: The unofficial LMDE KDE UP6

This will probably not be reproducible but... I have a new user profile (I reinstalled the whole system - new harddrive) and still find many of my user-only settings being reset. I had this randomly and couldn't figure a pattern. The culprit seems to be changing the KDM theme (which, unlike other s...

Re: The unofficial LMDE KDE UP6

After a few prayers... 8) I was able to do what you asked, except there was no payload line in grub, and no drm in modules. So Plymouth was there on reboot. My password still didn't work, but going into the console and logging in as root, I was able to reset the passwd. Then I restarted X (don't kn...

Re: The unofficial LMDE KDE UP6

I found this line in your Xorg.0.conf: [ 2207.480] [drm] failed to load kernel module "mach64" drm is the default Plymouth driver. So, let's kill Plymouth and see if you can login after that. Boot and login as root again. nano /etc/default/grub Change the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT line li...

Re: Device Driver Manager - Help needed

I installed it in Linux mint 14 mate 64 bit. It recognized my ati Ati mobility Radeon 5470 on a Acer 3820tg, and apparently installed the drivers, but after reboot, I get x.org server error and I can't boot linux. I have to say that I had the same problem also installing the driver manually. When X...

Re: The unofficial LMDE KDE UP6

Schoelje, thanks to you and all the testers for these releases. I just installed LMDE KDE UP6 SR1 201212 32-bit on an old machine. (I had tried this before, back in September, with 201208, but I didn't have a lot of time to play with it.) After install and reboot, I am not able to log in. I know th...

Re: The unofficial LMDE KDE UP6

I ask this because you had an X error, and that made me suspicious.
You already know that your card is no longer supported by the fglrx drivers. So, I'm afraid you're convicted to eternal manual login.
