Re: If your Linux machine is lost or stolen is there anything like what Apple has?
I think the best theft security is to not have your stuff stolen. You should not be so dismissive. Until it happens to you, you won't know what its like. Sometimes its not under your control. Yes, I too, am months without sound. Can't do google hangout, view youtube, not even any webinars. this is crippling. Considering going back to Win XP. LOL. That's how desperate I am. Used Ubuntu 5 years, til it got crappy, than Mint the last 3. Reminds me of my love of Firefox, until it got crappy ...

Please refer to Upgrading Alsa instead. after my last post I did some more digging and found something that seems to make it work properly! see here - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxA...

Re: Edimax EW-7811Un 802.11n Wireless Adapter
Wow! Thank you JeremyB! How do you figure these things out? As a longtime user, I wonder. Not only did it make my connection stable, but it improved reception from 78% 3 bars, to 4 bars 91% at the same exact location distance from my wireless router. I stuck in the 7811 USB and it immediately showed...
