Re: Install on /dev/sda2

Thank you everyone for help! I know Mint has a very user friendly installer...just wanted to prepare myself before starting.
"Rosa" has been rock solid! Really hate to give her up.

Install on /dev/sda2

gpart.jpg
My last install was LM Mate 17.3 Rosa on "sda2",I'm looking to do a clean install of LM Mate 19 on "sda2".
Is it pretty straight forward to direct my install to sda2 during the installation process?
I only run "LTS's" so Im not real proficient during install time,Thanks in advance.

Re: Samsung tab wont connect

My Galaxy S4 will do the same thing on a 3.0 USB port. Try using a 2.0 USB port if you have one.
My machine has 2.0 and 3.0 ports.,I was connected to the 3.0,...switched to the 2.0,worked flawlessly.
Thank you deepakdeshp for link!,I didn't even come close with my searching.

Re: Nouveau driver

Here is my manual,I didnt see anything that resembled ACPI It appears ACPI 2.0a support is already enabled, as shown on page 8, under BIOS, and there are no settings to change that. My Bad,I was looking for a "switch" that I could toggle enable/disable. In the manual it states "power on by keyboard...

Re: Nouveau driver

In regard to the Suspend problem, one thing I forgot to mention in my Private Messages was to check in the BIOS for an option such as Enable ACPI 2.0 support . On one of my systems that would not Suspend correctly, this setting was disabled, but I don't think it's present in every BIOS, especially ...

Re: Nouveau driver

You will have to test if Suspend works correctly using the nouveau driver. If it works and you don't need more graphics processing power for gaming or other very graphics intensive programs, then you don't need to install the proprietary driver. That's what i was hoping to hear,....I’m going to con...

Re: Swap Partition

I like your "swap" better than the "extended1" In fact, the "extended1" looks rather silly to me. That may be because I don't care for the idea of extended partitions, and don't recall ever using one in my long history with linux. The only time you might need an extended partition is if you need mo...

Re: Swap Partition

So, I guess the questions are: how much RAM is on your system, do you plan on using hibernation, and how much hard drive space can you afford to use? Im running 17.3 Rosa 32bit,and have 8 gig of ram (32 bit only sees 4 gig of ram?),I set my swap at approximatly 5 gig,.....The reason I went with 32b...

Installing new graphics card

I have a Gigabyte Motherboard, with on-board Intel chip,I'm installing an Asus graphics card(Nvidia Geforce 210). My question is: Will the Motherboard disable the on-board chip when it sees the Asus card when I first boot up,or do I need to disable the Intel chip before booting the new graphics card?...
