I'll have a look see and if it works I'll try to keep you posted.. A while back we wrote about creating a bootable windows 7 USB drive from Linux using Unetbootin, bu...

Re: Maybe Infected

Maybe that was too much information, this happened before when i used Windows exclusively, using Linux you get used to the idea of no virus infections so i dropped my guard.. Oops'! If i could just get into safe mode i might be able to sneak up on it, and avoid having to do a fresh install.. I'm dre...

Re: Maybe Infected

Re: Security and Privacy Forum

We all understand how virus and Linux don't mix but for that one in a 1000 time you find yourself in a jam a forum would be a benefit for everyone, imo. Kind of like the jam I'm in, Windows has a virus I'm running Linux on a USB drive and need a way to kill the virus with the only tool i have at my ...

Re: trying install w8 and mint14

I've been successful doing the same thing. I installed VistaBiz (win-7) first, then installed mint-14 (Mate) alongside. Everything works great. At bootup I get a menu choice for win or linux. Maybe you could share your success with the others, some haven't been as fortunate as you.. :) Thanks.. eve...

Re: I can't boot from disc to try out Mint! (100% newbie)

How long did you wait for it to boot up, sometimes depending on circumstances you may have to wait an extra minute or three, i waited 4 minutes one time but that was a USB stick

Try it you might be pleasantly surprised..

BibleTime

I've been browsing the Software Manager and came across an application called Bible Time. I've seen bible software for Windows both paid and free versions, the creators of this software could easily have charged for it but chose to take the free path. If you were looking for such software you need l...

Hi, this may sound dumb . http://i29.tinypic.com/2946xbn.gif . but others have used this fix in the forum : Close the mintUpdate icon in the taskbar (right-click -> close). Go to Menu -> Administration -> mintUpdate and start it from there, enter password, let it refresh. Then it seems to auto-fix ...

Re: Linux Mint 13 Ivy Bridge Problem

My first thought was possibly dust and or dirt in the cabinet when i see a PC crashing not the kernel not the Distro then i saw Ivy Bridge and did some snooping around, it appears that its had some issues, have you tried pursuing
that train of thought?

Thanks..

When you run that command and you see this readout and you think you've been using a 32 bit OS then you'll be pleasantly surprised.. as you can see the width says 64 bits, anyways if you've been having a difficult time installing Mint 13 give it a try. Understand this is for those of you running an ...
