notifications log or way to see past notifications?
I'm wondering where|if past notifications are stored -is there a log somewhere? Alternatively, is there a project that captures cinnamon notifications so that they can be viewed later? I'm running Cinnamon 4.0.10 with the notifications applet (notifications@cinnamon.org) on Antergos. Thanks for your...

nahh  there's no such an influx atm in sid or in testing post the actual sources.list you're working with at the moment Oh Maaan, I don't wanna admit this... I un-commented Experimental trying to get steam running and forgot to re-comment. (Let's pretend this didn't happen) Thanks for the qu...

Re: LMDE BREAKAGES - tracking TESTING - updated 2 Dec
Thanks zerozero (as always), I've been cautiously pulling things out and haven't run into any major issues. I somehow pulled out gdm3 which became obvious at reboot :D , I installed mdm and that was that. O ther than that I accidentally removed gedit (gnome, but I like it). All easy to recover from....

Re: LMDE BREAKAGES - tracking TESTING - updated 2 Dec
I feel a bit like I'm spamming up the place with these long code blocks -is there a show/hide or spoiler bbcode tag enabled? Anyway, here goes: {13-01-14 8:13}m0nster2:~ fiver22% sudo apt-get purge gnome-shell (...) The following package was automatically installed and is no longer required: libmusi...

Re: LMDE BREAKAGES - tracking TESTING - updated 2 Dec
Yer a peach, zerozero :) I AM in Xfce. I'll pull the obvious stuff out and err on the side of caution. Stuff that MAY have pulled in nautilus and gnome stuff: TrueCrypt -it launches nautilus by default, it seems. The other is dropbox -even though I've followed some tutorials to get it working with x...

Re: LMDE BREAKAGES - tracking TESTING - updated 2 Dec
What packages are being upgraded? I'd assume one of them now depends on gnome-shell, and I don't know which one that would be. (...) Just looked and they're actually all upgrades O.o 0 newly installed. Dunno how THAT happened. I'm running xfce4.10 -partly because I'm on old hardware :D I didn't rea...

Re: How stable is LMDE?
Heya holden87, The standard LMDE (no post install messing with sources.list) is very stable. It's quite easy to install and use compared to many distros but lacks some of the 'hand holding' that say Ubuntu does, or even the regular mint releases. I would call it a perfect step outside regular Mint o...

Re: LMDE BREAKAGES - tracking TESTING - updated 2 Dec
Hello fellow followers of testing. I have a general question about tracking testing: Is there a time I should be watching out for when Testing becomes particularly dangerous, or conversely approaches stability (and so becomes stagnant)? I've read over a few docs on stable and testing but to be hones...

Re: Thunar 1.5.1 -anyone managed it yet?
I have two issues with Thunar: - it doesn't recognise my USB storage devices, which I use a lot; - it doesn't have Copy to.../Move to... menu items; they can be set up as custom actions, but then don't work properly. Thunar always recognized my USB devices and still does on this update to 1.6.whate...

Re: sound notification says muted but is not -output works
Marking as solved. So, I thought another issue I was having was unrelated. Apoparently it was because resolving that fixed this threads issue. The other issue was that I had no desktop -I had panels and rarely use the desktop for anything so I barely noticed it ;) To solve both issues I had to dl 2 ...
