Re: LMDE disapointment.

For your information, on January 1st, SolydXK team leader announced that the UP release would only happens 4 times per year now. Too much work to do for a monthly release. Yep... one day after i posted my comment here i saw the post on G+ so i couldn't know it on the 31st. Smaller team, no p...

Re: LMDE disapointment.

From my point of view LMDE isn't a rolling nor a cyclic-rolling release anymore with the one or maybe when lucky two Update Packs that are released in a year...... and that's where the problem is i think. The gap between the UP's is too big which results in people running into all kinds of trouble w...

Re: Software Manager will not update

Did you remove the medibuntu repo from the sources.list? This has to be done first: viewtopic.php?f=90&t=147271&hilit=medibuntu#p773172

Also i believe the mint mirrors/repos were down too because i wasn't able to update a fresh LMDE install until now.

Re: Saucy Salamander is a fiasco: The worst Ubuntu release e

I'm pretty interested to see how Linux Mint is going to react when Ubuntu disables support for X and does not support wayland, as their development plan promises, but that's still a good ways into the future I reckon, and probably the wisest course is to wait and see after the dust settles and Cano...

Re: Saucy Salamander is a fiasco: The worst Ubuntu release e

I know some on the mint forums like to find a reason...ANY reason to bash ubuntu but you are just not being fair... I don't see how it's Ubuntu bashing. It was pointed out that there are bugs with the release, the issue that third-party programs haven't been updated to suit the new release yet, tha...

Re: Saucy Salamander is a fiasco: The worst Ubuntu release e

The Chrome problem doesn't appear to be a problem in the 64 bit version so maybe it is just on the 32 bit version....but yes, like you said, it is something Google has to straighten out on their end, which i am sure they will quickly....this happened once before i recall not to long ago and they fi...

Re: Saucy Salamander is a fiasco: The worst Ubuntu release e

I've seen complaints about Google Chrome, Skype and other popular software not playing nice with 13.10 as well. On the bright side, Mint releases are typically a month behind the Ubuntu releases, by which point the most prominent issues are usually fixed. Either way, I'll be waiting for Mint 17 bef...

Re: Xfce question regarding maximizing windows

Maybe try a xfwm4 --replace in the terminal (if you're not using Compiz) and see if that's working. There's also one other thing i need to get off of my chest: I hate to say this but i've been watching it long enough now on various forums.... After being with linux all these years, 6 or more, nomko,...

Re: LMDE Update Pack 7

SolydXK has a much better update policy. Not only that.... the update manager has been improved that much that you don't have to reinstall a nvidia driver manually for example after a kernel upgrade, it's handled by the update manager itself now. IMHO Mint should drop the non LTS versions and focus...

Re: LMDE Update Pack 7

I'm doing a reinstall of LMDE on my netbook since the UP 7 gave me nothing but trouble when upgrading, broken packages, partial installation of the updates etc etc. This will be the last attempt and last time. LMDE should have UP's every month or at least every two months to avoid problems. There's ...

There is no Linux Mint Debian 15. Only Linux Mint 15 Olivia which is Ubuntu based and LMDE 201303 (Linux Mint Debian Edition) which is based on Debian. So.... what version is it that you have tried to install?

Re: Installing LMDE on an SD card

Installing a OS on a SD card is never a good idea because SD cards are limited on read/write cycles compared to a normal hard drive or SDD. Meaning they won't live very long, you could end up with a unusable system fast after a while (weeks or months) and you can throw it (the sd card or usb stick) ...

Verhuis Linux Mint NL aanstaande Donderdag 16 Mei 2013

Re: download raring or precise version? - OpenTTD

So when a package is outdated it means it doesn't work anymore? That's how i get it from the startpost but i don't agree on that part at all. Just because a package is outdated it doesn't mean it doesn't work anymore so i don't see a point of getting a update from another ppa. Unless you have some p...

Re: LMDE 201303 released!

reboothell, Feel free to jump in as a tester of the iso's the next time and report those bugs so they can be fixed before release, now it's too late. From my point of view it could be kernel related because i had this issue on Debian too with the same kernel and i'm sure it will be updated in the ne...

Re: How to install flash plugin in Mint Debian 201303

Flash plugin is installed by default in LMDE. That flash isn't working in Chromium is something i noticed too and remember it pops up a message that flash is out of date. I believe though that the problem lies in the fact that the current Chromium on LMDE is kinda outdated since it's version 22.0.12...

Since Dropbox on the system syncs with the Dropbox cloud folders the files are downloaded onto your hard drive, thus take up the same space from what i know.
