[Solved] Broadcom BCM43162

I have recently been persuaded to have fibre broadband installed at my house. It broadcasts on two channels, the faster of the two is a 5G channel. I have a Lenovo G70-70, with Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia installed and running perfectly. Alas the original wifi card isn't able to see 5G networks, but does...

Re: Wifi stops working following inactivity or suspend.

Apologies for not updating this post but issues continue. It is now the case that wifi is constant disconnecting and I have spent literally hours trying to resolve the issues, I have failed. Firstly system information: OS - Linux Mint 18.1 Cinnamon 64bit Cinnamon version - 3.2.7 Linux Kernel - 4.4.0...

Wifi stops working following inactivity or suspend.

I have LMDE 2 Betsy installed on a Lenovo G70-70. The Wifi card is a Broadcomm BCM43142. It connects wirelessly to a TP Link Archer AX3200 router. It works flawlessly until I leave it inactive or close the lid of the laptop (which is set to suspend). When I then try and use the computer wireless has...

Re: Lenovo Ideapad Z585 - Cannot install Mint

I have tried using Ubuntu, Linux Mint (all flavours) Fedora and Opensuse.

I get the same result with every distro, as soon as I select install I get the grey screen with the blinking cursor.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad Z585 - Cannot install Mint

I am not using and external monitor, should I be doing this? So far I have burned the LMDE iso to a couple of DVD's. I have checked the media on both and it is fine. I have then changed the boot order in my bios for the DVD to boot first, restarted my machine and the DVD does boot first giving me th...

Lenovo Ideapad Z585 - Cannot install Mint

Hi, I have spent most of today trying to install LMDE on a Lenovo Ideapad Z585. It currently has Windows 7 installed. I have tried a DVD boot and a USB boot. Both allow me access to the usual boot menu, however and again with both the DVD and USB iso, after I select install I get a grey screen with ...

Re: Web Page Editor

I really want to try and avoid using windows software.

I will give Bluefish another go and try and install Aptana, I know there are issues in relation to Java but I will see what I can work out.

Thanks to all who helped!

Re: Web Page Editor

Amaya actually installed ok but when I try to use it, I click on the icon and nothing happens.

I have no idea how to install BlueGriffon despite much time spent researching.

Bluefish works fine but I wanted to try something with some wysiwyg elements as well.

Thanks for you help.

Re: Web Page Editor

Can anyone help? The only other option open to me is to install Wine and use a Windows based editor. Something I don't want to do.
