Re: Software Rendering Mode: LM17 Cinnamon

Just one extra bit to add - when I now try to use the "install Guest Additions" from the devices menu (in the Virtual Box menu at the bottom) it comes up with: Unable to mount the CD/DVD drive "C:\Program Files\Oracle\something\VboxGuestAdditions.iso" on the Machine "Linux M...

Re: Software Rendering Mode: LM17 Cinnamon

Running Linux Mint 14 inside a Virtual Box on Win 8 host, it runs with 4 of 4 available cpus, 1.5Gb ram, and a single display, with 64Mb dedicated t...

Re: Setting up USB Mint 16 bootable

Firstly many thanks for the helpful responses, I did manage to get an install, but you rightly point out that journaling is probably not the best for USB/flash memory, and also that unless I use GRUB I will probably have an issue with getting the WIN bootloader to recognise the disk - so it doesn't ...

Re: [keyboard] Two punctuation keys don't behave as they sho

Right, Now I have this problem on my ACER Aspire 1700 Desktop portable. The problem as I understand it arose when I chose to use the USA Int'l keyboard choice on installation, but realised it was the wrong "layout" and so when I hit the apostrophe key ' what I got was nothing, but the next...

Well, Hello World of Mint

My name is Michael, I've been long looking for a distro to replace the mandriva I had installed on this old Lap/desk Acer Aspire 1700. Nothing against other distros, have tried several, just liked the look of the Mint 10 Julia and was pleased it recognised most of the hardware without complaint. Am ...
