Docky no longer shutdowns, resets, or suspends the PC

Hello, Im running Mint KDE 16 64bits. All is awesome except that now (it used to worked just fine in Mint 15) docky's Session Manager won't turn the PC off, or reset or anything. When pressing the button the pop up comes up as in the screen shot, but after clicking on Shut Down, the window and Docky...

Re: How to install Splashtop on Mint 14?

Here is what I tried mates. Since the libx264 dependency is too hard to trick (at least for me), I stopped trying to fool Splashtop to believe there is a shared object called libx264-120, pointingt o the libx264-123 library. I dont garantee your computer will return safely, or that it will be the sa...

Re: Ugly font rendering with Evince, not with okular

Hi there mate, Hopefully this will help and you haven abandoned mint cuz of this =D The problem you are facing is easy to fix, and due to a weird command syntax programmed by default within the mintmenu option to open Okular: okular %U %i -caption "%c" The caption parameter allows setting ...

Re: compiz breaks window borders in Mint 13

Thank you for replying mate. My CCSM Window Decoration also says /usr/bin/compiz-decorator. The problem I here is that nothing I check in CCSM will take effect. compiz --replace will only trigger part of the changes, its like the plugins within CCSM are being ignored, therefore I don't have window b...

Compiz settings won't take effect

Hello, I went through this tutorial: http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/919 But no matter what I do, each time I open the CCSM, it behaves as if it has never been opened before, and nothing I click in there to enable for example Window Decoration and stuff will take effect. I think my nVid...

compiz breaks window borders in Mint 13

Hello, I tried this post to enable Compiz in Maya Mate 64bit with nVidia drivers enabled: http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/919 When I start compiz (compiz --replace from terminal or Startup Apps) then my windows have no borders! But the real problem is that even if I click on the Window ...

Re: Shade effect with scroll wheel in LMDE - How?

My gconf looks exactly as yours, you can be sure of that.

I haven't installed the compiz advanced settings manager, but I am not sure if that is what enables compiz. How would I check if it is?

Thanks

Re: Shade effect with scroll wheel in LMDE - How?

No, that setting doesn't work in my LMDE, thats why I said its probable that Mint native theming constraints the option somehow. I would like to know what could that be.

Re: How I Enabled Sharing of a directory via Samba in Nautil

On the one hand why would you want any user on your system to share everything - like another users home directory? If your statement is true (haven't tested that far) then you are right, but then again, Im the king of my computer, no other user accounts in it. And this is the same truth for many p...

Re: Shade effect with scroll wheel in LMDE - How?

Hey, just to update, it seems like Mint itself could be the one holding a setting somewhere that prevents the mouse wheel to work. This person was able to activate the feature with the scrollwheel but using plain Debian : http://blog.netflowdevelopments.com/2011/11/24/enabling-window-shades-in-debia...

Shade effect with scroll wheel in LMDE - How?

Hello, I have been reading several posts about modifying the mouse action in gwd to achieve the shade effect of rolling the window up to the title bar, but all of them referring to ubuntu based systems. I am using LMDE and so far have only been able to double-click on the title bar to roll up the wi...

Re: filesharing

Using LMDE edition, what I had to do was, first go to Users and Groups, then Manage Groups > Sambashare > Properties and then check your user name.

Later, go to /etc/samba/smb.conf, and under the [global] section, add usershare owner only = false

Log out, then log in.
