Re: Sync iphone 6 music with 17.2

phd21: Thanks for all your effort investigating this. You have gone above and beyond. I hoped that it would be a case of copying and pasting a few lines of code and then be updated with the latest libraries. However, this is now outside my skill-level so I am happy to throw my arms up in the air and...

Re: Sync iphone 6 music with 17.2

Alright, I've figure it why it doesn't work (pays to read everything you can get your hands on) Rhythmbox, gtkpod and Amarok sync with latest libgpod >= 0.7.90. The iPhone 4/4S, iPod Touch 4, iPad 1/2/3rd Gen and Apple TV do NOT work. Any device with DBVersion > 4 does NOT work. To check your DBVers...

Re: Sync iphone 6 music with 17.2

Ok, the instructions are this:
Installation
============

To compile run:
./autogen.sh
make
sudo make install
but I get:

Code: Select all

bash: ./autogen.sh: No such file or directory

Re: Sync iphone 6 music with 17.2

Cool, I've tried lots of different players, none seem to work. I actually tried what you said up there with downloading the latest version and building myself, but to be honest I don't really know what I'm doing and the first command didn't even work. Not sure if I'm in the right folder/location to ...

Re: Sync iphone 6 music with 17.2

Thanks, but al I really need is for someone to tell me the right code to update libimobiledevice to the latest version (1.2.0). The one in the repositories is old and doesn't support ios8. It would be great for many people for sure.

Re: Sync iphone 6 music with 17.2

Oh,

I see that libimobiledevice is still on 1.1.5 but the latest is 1.2.0. Does anyone know how to update it to the latest version without breaking anything? Does anyone have experience with syncing music to that version?

Cheers.

Sync iphone 6 music with 17.2

Hi, I just installed 17.2 Cinnamon 64bit on my PC (haven't used Linux Mint for many years) and am very impressed with how the distro has developed. I see you can browse the iphone and move docs/import photos etc, which is very cool. Has anyone been able to get music syncing working yet? I see Banshe...

Re: Linux Mint 13 "Maya" RC released!

It's all good! Apart from... I was using Google Chrome and nothing else and it suddenly seized up. I did ctrl-alt F2 to get another desktop terminal, which was OK, and then ctrl-atl-F7 to go back to DE and I got this message: "could not write bytes: Broken pipes". I rebooted and wrote this post, th...

Re: The current state of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

It's funny - normally I have a smooth ride while everyone else has the bugs. Not this time. I found that it ran best several weeks ago and then has gotten progressively more buggy in the last week or so.

And no bongo drums? Sacrilege!

Re: The current state of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Sadly, I have had to abandon 12.04 on my HP mini :( Even being completely up-to-date, I was getting the regular system error and Software Centre was still locking up the whole computer. So I thought a reinstall should fix that - I grabbed the latest daily build and installed that... and ended up in ...

Re: The current state of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

My Software Centre has stopped working :( I just presumed that it may have been broken by an update and would be fixed soon, but after a bit of Googling around it seems I'm the only one having this problem? When I try to install any app, it has a graphical freak-out and the computer locks up and the...

Re: Ubuntu 12.04

Same problem with minitube here. There is a bug report on this and it effects other media players as well. Luckily, from here on out untill the final release they will be consentrating on bug fixes. I expect we will see quite a few bugs fixed by beta 2. Cool. I'm actually a bit excited by this rele...

Maybe someone in here will know the answer to this - in 12.04 I find Minitube only plays sound, and no video? Anyone else use this cool little application?

Re: Ubuntu 12.04

Still not happening. Also when I minimise a window, the only way to get it back is to use ALT-TAB to select it. I better go check out the Ubuntu forums and see if that is happening to others I guess. Apart from the odd bug, I'm quite enjoying using Unity and 12.04 for the first time. Will see if it ...

Anyone else find that after the last series of updates, you can't right-click on the desktop to change Appearance preferences anymore?
