Menu sort by recent use

Can I make cinnamon menu do that when I use search application? Just like the behavior on Windows, or Unity (although Unity doesn't even have traditional menu), or Synapse (if I remember correctly, since it's been a while since I used Synapse). For example, if I have Calculator and Chess, and I run ...

Re: MS Office for Linux

Well,, if you want doc and docx compatibility, I believe our best bet is wps / kingsoft office. Although they don''t handle odf, and still in alpha, they work perfectly for MS Office format. Especially powerpoint, which libreoffice sucks at handling them. I don't know how the compatibility with exce...

Re: So long Cinnamon! Hello ... Gnome Shell? Unity?

Why not just use Ubuntu? :?: Because Cinnamon is still more customizable. Although currently the default unity is still better than the cinnamon I managed to customize, but I still like to have the ability to it. But yeah, I'll return to Ubuntu later today when it's released. Let see if Mint 17 or ...

Re: So long Cinnamon! Hello ... Gnome Shell? Unity?

Hehe, I'll be watching this thread closely. I've been using Mint even now, but I always miss my time with Unity. Cinnamon is lighter than Unity, yes, but I haven't been able to replicate most Unity things with it. It's becoming better and better with its extensions. At least I got title bar on panel...

Re: Title Bar Disappear on Maximize

No, I don't want to full screen everything. It's similar to full screen (although for browser, I still need tabs and other bars), but I don't want to hide my panels. simply removing the title bar. Like the one in Unity DE or in this tutorial I mentioned before (unfortunately, it's for Gnome Shell on...

Re: [Solved] Huawei 3G Modem

I see.. I have version 1.2.3, but it said that I have the latest version already. Maybe that's outdated and I need to update it manually.
I've tried it before (like on my posts above), but maybe I used it wrong...

Title Bar Disappear on Maximize

Hi, I want to make title bar disappear on maximized window, somewhat like Unity behaviour (I'll use title bar applet for the title). The best I can achieve now is reducing title bar to size 0, but that makes close/maximize button too small for unmaximized window. I saw it's possible with gnome shell...

Re: Huawei 3G Modem

this has been addressed before, but the Forum's search function, doesn't always give those thread(s). "Also, for most of the times you don't need to use sakis3g. You just need to update the modeswitch program and lists" http://www.sakis3g.org even this guide, is a little dated, now. http://www.drai...

Libre Office sidebar missing icons

Hi, As the title says, Libre Office in Mint missing some icons. The buttons and alignments are a bit mess too.. I experience this with Mint 15 and (freshly installed) Mint 16. Windows' version of LibreOffice looks good, though. the pic: http://i712.photobucket.com/albums/ww126/Vayth/librewriter_win_...

Re: Huawei 3G Modem

unfortunately, it didn't work.. I have no device for sr1, and sr0 pointing to my actual cd-rom. It's actually listed as storage device usb/memory card; I read some modem with memory card are confused by Linux whether it's a modem or a storage device. I tried to detach it with sudo usb_modeswitch -v ...

Re: Replace Linux Mint 15 (AND WINDOWS) with Linux Mint 16

I guess... I messed up.. Now even the new Mint is disappeared, "No OS found" when booting... It became worse because my Huawei modem is not detected by Linux (one reason I can't migrate to linux fully). Sometimes it gets detected (usually when I 'unlock' it from windows, then restart to linux. But I...

Re: Replace Linux Mint 15 (AND WINDOWS) with Linux Mint 16

I usually install from ubuntu to mint, and vice versa (windows is untouchable since I still unable to migrate to Linux fully, so I store all of my backup there) And since ubuntu 13.04 and 13.10 doesn't give many new interesting things aside from under the hood improvements, I skipped them. So this i...
