Re: Cannot boot Mint 14 on Elitebook 2760p

Doesn't sound like this is anything specific to the 2760p. LM14 installed without issue on mine, and I'm now on LM15 with pretty much zero issues (maybe one... but nothing like you're experiencing). I'm having a little trouble following what you're doing here. Are you trying to install LM14 alongsid...

Re: Treat password dialog and run dialog as normal windows?

This still persists in Mint 13. In case any other Tablet users find this thread and are looking for the fix, I was able to partially fix it with advice in Mint 13 (but not Mint 12) from this thread: http://gnomeshell.wordpress.com/2011/09/10/the-modal-windows-behavior/ gconftool-2 --set /desktop/gno...

Re: Thumb scrolling switch [HP TabletPC, Mint 12/Gnome3]

Yeah, that works just fine. Keys and thumb toggle both work as expected, no issues created. My work day just got a ton better because I've got that working, thanks for the advice and the help.

Ok, I will try that and see how it goes. Thanks for you help, very much appreciated.

If anyone else has suggestions for how to finish this off I am open to ideas :)

Re: Thumb scrolling switch [HP TabletPC, Mint 12/Gnome3]

Looks to be successful.... output of xev shows press and return, it looks like: KeyPress event, serial 29, synthetic NO, window 0x1e00001, root 0xad, subw 0x0, time 67531, (334,-29), root:(422,63), state 0x0, keycode 193 (keysym 0x1008ff46, XF86Launch6), same_screen YES, XLookupString gives 0 bytes:...

Re: Thumb scrolling switch [HP TabletPC, Mint 12/Gnome3]

Hi Favux, Thanks for the reply. Not entirely off topic - I've used a ton of your posts on the Ubuntu Forums to help solve issues with my other TabletPC - a tx2z with the N-Trig digitizer, so thanks for those too. Back to this topic: I followed your instructions, the outcome was similar to when I use...

Re: Treat password dialog and run dialog as normal windows?

Ok, I was hoping it was a setting I missed, but guess not. Thanks for the help. I will review the bugzilla info later when I'm back at a computer.

Have a good one.

Re: Treat password dialog and run dialog as normal windows?

Hi bimsebasse, Thanks for the response. Unfortunately that doesn't answer the question. I'm not having trouble enabling the assistive technologies and the keyboards (Caribou, to which I refer in my original post, is the defualt keyboard to with you refer in your post). The trouble is after they're e...

Thumb scrolling switch [HP TabletPC, Mint 12/Gnome3]

Working on setting up a HP Elitebook 2670p Convertable (TabletPC) with Mint 12/Gnome 3, and all the hardware I've tested works except for the thumb scrolling rocker (not sure what the official name is - couldn't find it in the documentation or online) on the bezel, hoping maybe someone would be will...

Treat password dialog and run dialog as normal windows?

Looking for help configuring Gnome 3 on Linux Mint 12. I need to disable screen grabbing when a password dialog or the run dialog are activated so that I can use an onscreen keyboard to enter my password or to enter the command I'd like to run. In Gnome 2 this could be accomplished by going to Assis...
