Re: Totem does not play or even open

Did you run " /path/to/file/here " as the syntax? I needed you to try an play a video file. "path to file" was just showing you how to write the syntax in terminal. OK say your video file is in your Videos directory an the name of it is video.avi an your username is nag...

Re: Mint-Logo Plymouth Theme

Hmmm! :? You don't see any lines containing lines like this: Window.SetBackgroundTopColor (0, 0, 0); Window.SetBackgroundBottomColor (0, 0, 0); These are where you should add the RGB values. Should be able to do a gradient as well. Maybe try adding the lines if they don't exist using the RGB that yo...

Re: DeVeDe file increase in size.

I have ConvertXtoDVD loaded in VB and Windows! With that I can load 4 episodes each of 750Mbs, transcode and burn to a 4.7gbs DVD. I used to be able to do the same thing with DeVeDe using the default settings. Now it's impossible. Just out of interest I took a 750Mb .avi transcoded to .iso and it c...

Re: Mint-Logo Plymouth Theme

Hi there. You can try 84, 107, 126 which should be the RGB value. It's quite easy to use Gimp to get the right numbers by opening the color changer > type in the hexadecimal number in the html notation box then hit enter > on the right side of the little window read the last three columns for the RG...

Re: DeVeDe file increase in size.

Hi beeman Usually the only way that this can happen is if the source files are too large to begin with before the encoding process is run. Make sure and check this before starting if you didn't before. Sometimes a user must manually reduce the size (quality, video bitrate, etc) in an effort to fit t...

Re: atheros ATH9K module not being loaded

this has now fixed the problem Great! Although why did it need fixing? What got broken? Would require a whole lot more info from you. only, I was wondering , I had not changed any of these files and before editing. I examined the time-stamp. The files had not changed since install. So where else an...

Re: atheros ATH9K module not being loaded

Hi keratos, all works fine but I'd like this to happen automatically Getting a module to load at boot can be done in several ways. Here are just two: 1. Using a text editor as root you can modify /etc/rc.local an add the line modprobe ath9k to the end of the list, but above the "exit 0" li...

Re: ht make link to program...

Hi pienkvien, Usually all you need is to include the actual URI where the program is installed like wine "C:\Program Files\program_name\program_name.exe" Find your program location installation directory then correct the above syntax to match that. *Notice the double quotes (needed for bro...

Re: Brother HL-2140 wastes tons of paper

Thanks for the output. OK the "Foomatic/Postscript" driver is a known cause for this type of error - what I call paper spitting. What you can do is try to find one of these other drivers (which should be on your system): Try first: Foomatic/hl1250 Try next: Foomatic/hpijs-pcl5e If you have...

Re: Brother HL-2140 wastes tons of paper

Hi nuagedeboucane,

It sounds like the symptoms of a bad printer driver to me.

Check which driver that you are using and post it back here then I can try an help you look in to it further.

One way is to use: http://localhost:631/printers/ then click on your printer.

This is only for use in a menu or launcher. To call the new version manually in terminal without using the profil...
