Re: HOWTO: Convert Debian Wheezy XFCE to LMDE XFCE

mmm I get this error after adding the minuxmint-keyring and running apt-get update E: Release file for http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/dists/testing/InRelease is expired (invalid since 110d 20h 3min 42s). Updates for this repository will not be applied. Not the 1st time I've tried this and got t...

Re: HOWTO: Convert Debian Wheezy XFCE to LMDE XFCE

Sounds like you have your basic installation working, that's good. Not sure about your pulseadiou situation. It worked straightaway for me, although I did remove it in favor of ALSA-only since I use my PC to record with using Ardour/Jack, and Jack an pulse don't play nice together. If you notice, my...

Re: HOWTO: Convert Debian Wheezy XFCE to LMDE XFCE

You have overlooked the fact that you can not install mint-meta-codecs or mint-meta-debian-core which are standard on any LMDE system. If you did manage to install them, I'd like to know how because I haven't found a work around. You'll have to locate the missing dependencies in order to install th...

Re: MD13 - Keyring Password and Evolution!

Try running the following code in a terminal, then log out and log back in. It will run almost instantly and show no output, just a return to the blinking cursor.

Code: Select all

sudo sed -i 's/gnome_keyring/mate_keyring/g' /etc/pam.d/*

It takes about 10+ sec to open here.

Yep, here too. I think it has to do with integrating the jockey functionality into Software Sources.

Re: Linux Mint 14 RC

Today's update to mint-themes removes the Mint-Z theme. and it won't come back  https://github.com/linuxmint/mint-themes/commit/aaead0f89e285144c2739d4879bcebcadc9ec802 Oh man, that was my favorite theme! I hope Mint-X inherits some of the features, like the solid color download progress bar...

Yeah, forum performance has hit rock bottom. About 3:30 PM MST here now, bad performance any time of day for me. I've timed out twice just loading this thread and trying to reply (ironic!).

Re: Linux Mint 14 RC

Only issue so far is when I open Synaptic and the password dialog appears, nothing echoes back when I type the password in. It appears to take the password just fine, Synaptic launches, just don't get any visual feedback when typing. i saw a similar problem today when i installed nadia-cinnamon but...

Re: linux Mint 13 on Virtual Box 4.2

The problem is virtual box, running in linux is slow too... Try a Linuxmint LIveDVD Ridiculous. I have Mint 13 MATE running in VB 4.2.2 on a Toshiba laptop under Win 7, dual core AMD chip, and the Virtual Mint runs like a top. I have the VM set for 2 CPUs, 65% execution cap, 3D accel turned on. It'...

Re: Linux Mint 14 RC

After playing a little more, it seems the password dialog does work, it is simply slow in responding to the typed input. If I wait 1-2 seconds the dots appear. However, as I said before it seems that the password is in place because if I whip through the typing and hit enter, the application opens j...

Sucking down the 64-bit MATE ISO right now. Will report back after installation :) Well, no luck for me. Two failed attempts to install. The installer crashes near the end of the install while it's installing/configuring grub. The md5sums check out OK on the ISO I downloaded. Is this one of the iss...

Did you log out and log in or reboot after the change? Thunar only takes that long delay on its first launch.

Nice fix, altair4!

No, I haven't found any switches or anything that works. I just do as you did and keep hitting Y when it finds more stuff to delete :)
