span deal monitor splash screen

Hi I just switched from mint13 to mint 18.1 on 13 I was able to have my splash screen span both of my monitors, but on 18.1 the tricks I used on 13 do not work. Can anyone help please. I’ve tried all three video drivers, I’ve looked in the mdm files. I’m lost.

Re: Still : NO Anti-Virus program needed ? (Solved)

I'm sorry guys I disagree . While it is true Linux systems are infinity more secure than windows, that is not to say they are bullit proof. In fact some of the first viruses were writen for unix systems. https://www.wired.com/2009/11/1110fred-cohen-first-computer-virus/ while it is also true that Li...

Re: Issues with libreOffice and sound

I should have explained my self a little better than I did, these were two separate problems, the sound issue was system wide, where as the dictionary problem was LibreOffice specific. Regardless if you want to try what I did go back to the pulseaudio process, right click on it and select Change Pri...

Re: Issues with libreOffice and sound

Ok I managed to fix the sound issue here's what I did. In the System Monitor>> Processes I noticed the pulseauddio Nice was set at -11, I reset it to 0 and the sound came back. After a reboot the sound was still there, but the Nice was back to -11 weird or what?? bottom line sound issue fixed.

Why do I have a zombie process when I open a terminal ?

When I open the terminal. The system monitor processes shows that I have a zombie process running with an .exe symbol in front of it, and in the memory/waiting change it says N/A do_exit. Is this a problem I should be worried about??

Re: Brasero, Kd3, XfBurn...big time issues, installation & b

Ya MDM may have a point here. I just finished installing mint 15 cin. in my Vbox and k3b was in the software manager. Installed and is actually more functional. Maybe you got a bummer disk or ISO did you check the md5 ?

Re: Brasero, Kd3, XfBurn...big time issues, installation & b

The command you are looking for is “uname -m” return i686 = 32 or x86_64 = 64 The latest mint LTS is 13 also I found this link http://www.networkworld.com/reviews/2013/080513-linux-mint-test-272497.html paragraph 4 they mention replacing brasero with k3b so I would Imagen it is possible in 15. But i...

Re: printer install problem

If you check http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public_s/id/linux/en/evaluation.html you will see that mint 15 or Ubuntu 13.04 which mint 15 is based on is not supported for this printer. You have two choices 1 wait for brother to write drivers for Ubuntu 13.04 or downgrade your syst. to mint ...

Silly question have you tried “sudo apt-get install k3b” in terminal? I am using mint 13 and although there are issues, the program it self runs fine.

Re: unable to install a Brother printer in LMDE 64bit

Did you check, http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public_s/id/linux/en/evaluation.html first to see if your ver. of Linux is supported for your printer?? I'm running mint 13 (Ubuntu 12.04) and this printer is not supported. you would have to be running, Ubuntu11.04(32bit/64bit) to use there su...

Thanks for the help. I actually managed to solve both my problems through the login windows preference.
