This method should work but you'll need to re-add any launchers you've added to the panel.

Right click on an empty section of the panel. Select Troubleshoot then Restore all settings to default.

Hope this helps,
Larry
It did the trick! Thanks. And no fries needed with that! lol

[SOLVED] moving icons on the panel

So I can add an item from the menu to the panel (the task bar on the bottom, I think its called panel) BUT they end up on the right. I want to move them to the left. So I keep reading to engage panel edit mode and I did that. But still cant move anything. Dragging does not work either. Is there a tr...

Restoring Android on a nexus 7 (2013) tab

So after playing with Ubuntu touch for a while I decided to flash Android back to the tablet. Without all the details, perhaps someone in this group will recognise this output and have an ah ha moment! If so tell me what the issue is:  andrew  ~  Downloads  temp  nakasi-jdq39  ls bootloader-gro...

How to fix grub2

I was playing around with USB sticks installing distros on them and noticed my mint OS on startup now is looking for a series of hard drives which don't exist. I have to press S to skip until it finds my main sda hard drive. How to fix this? I tried grub repair but it didn't fix it. Picture below:

How to prepare for version 18.0

So I've been with 17.3 cinnamon for a long time now and I have installed so many programs I've lost track. I want to either upgrade via an upgrade path which I understand is not available yet, or simply do a fresh install. BUT I'd also like to know how to reliably reinstall everything I currently ha...

Rendering issue 17.3 cinnamon 64bit

This has been chatted about but thought there was no definite resolution. (Is there?) I read this is a bug, is it? Installed Cinnamon 17.3 all the latest ISO/updates etc on an Acer Aspire with an Intel video card. It boots in software rendering, rendering this wee little lappy soggy slow. Here's the...

Speeding up mintMenu 5.6.4

Hi,
I find that the MintMenu is slow to come up when clicking on Menu. Is there a way to permanently make it's execution priority very high so that it will load up instantly each time I click on Menu?
Thanks.

Hi everyone, I've just bought a USB wireless LAN adapter. I need to understand how to install the diver so that it can operate with my new computer. Re: Unable to change appearance preferences

Chow, it really is discouraging. I'm still trying to install the driver for my Gforce 7350LE card and trying to get Mint 6 to go into 3D mode for those great desktop effects. I had it going perfectly once in Mint 5 and then something changed. I've never been able to get it going since, even with a f...

Re: Unable to change appearance preferences

It is interesting to note that doing a clean install of Mint 6 results in the same sort of thing. The operating sys detects the missing nvidia driver and prompts for the downloading of the driver, seemingly installs it, and a reboot results in a error message such that I end up in a low Res screen. ...
