Re: Mate 1.6 on Mint 13 Mate 64 bit
Mint menu works fine thank you! About the close button problem, I took a screenshot: The window closes only when the pointer clicks at X or at the right of X, but only under the black line I've put at the screenshot. At MATE 1.4 I could put the pointer a...

Re: Mate 1.6 on Mint 13 Mate 64 bit
Thank you. I 've installed it without any problems. I have 2 questions: - I noticed with MATE 1.6 that the "close" button in the upper-right corner no longer registers on maximized windows when you click in the very upper-right corner! You must precisely aim the mouse cursor directly over ...

Re: Mate 1.6 on Mint 13 Mate 64 bit
Thank you for your answer. I added the repository, I edited the /etc/apt/preferences file as it is described at the instructions and I tried to install MATE 1.6 updates, but a warning appeared. Mint 13 & MATE 1.4 How to disable minimizing effect [SOLVED]
I use Mint 13 maya with MATE 1.4 (backported recently). Everything runs well, but I want to disable that minimizing effect that appears when we are minimizing a window (that effect with the frame line of the window that shrinks down at the open window in taskbar). Is there a way ? I haven't done any...

MATE and update
I am thinking of updating to MATE 1.4 at my laptop (mint maya mate installed), but I have two questions: - Will MATE 1.2 be updated automatically to 1.4 in the future ? (In order to avoid manually installation of MATE 1.4). If I choose to update to 1.4, will I experience problems with constant updat...

Re: Firefox - Tabs on Title Bar
Mozilla has not implemented this feature yet on linux. I don't know the reasons. Maybe the differences between the desktop enviroments are the reason (i.e. at unity that feature is not necessary but at MATE is absolutely necessary for many users because it fits with that envoronment and increases pr...

Re: Video Tearing - Mint Maya XFCE
But honestly, I've never been able to get "tear-free" Linux. Ever. Even on my desktop, I still get tearing. It's ridiculous that most compositors don't let you just manually enter a refresh rate. My netbook never had tearing problems with Mint 9. But I wanted something lighter and newer, ...

Re: How To Reset mate To Default Settings ?
Firstly thank you for your help
That is exactly what I want to do, as you described with the screenshots. I removed "notification area" and then I added it again, but the notification area doesn't have the volume icon.

How To Reset mate To Default Settings ?
Is there a way to reset MATE taskbar at it's default configuration with the default icons-shortcuts etc ? I only want to reset something. When I was trying to fix a sound problem with pulse audio, the Volume icon near the clock at the right-down edge had gone. I inserted a volume icon (right-Click o...

Re: Sound hiccups/glitches/crackles Linux Mint 13 MATE 64bit
Why did you decide that pulseaudio is not used? Because when I uninstalled pulseaudio the volume adjust icon near the clock at the right part of the taskbar dissapeared and after the re-installation it has not apeared. I added a volume icon by right-clicking and adding items to taskbar. It is not t...

Re: Sound hiccups/glitches/crackles Linux Mint 13 MATE 64bit
I had a similar problem. I did something that maybe is wrong; From the Software Center, I uninstalled PulseAudio. Then, I rebooted and it uses the Alsa mixer. These sound problems seems that have gone. But I want to use again pulse audio, in order to use the solution mentioned here; https://wiki.arc...
