Re: HELP: installing mint preconfig?

I concur. I've tried to do that but found that you can only set up a dual boot.

Re: Partitioning Problems

Ok I figured out what I need to do. Turns out that I'm missing a batch file...so that complicates things, I just need to get the stupid thing Re-imaged AGAIN!!! Oh well. Or I could move all my music to an external and see if I have enough to run the Linux Mint CD. We shall see, I'll keep yall posted...

Partitioning Problems

Wow the first time I've ever had this much of a problem setting up a dual boot. I tried running the partition program that it came with, but to auto-partition I have to have 60.5 gigs free, and it won't let me do it manually. I tried Parted Magic, but that didn't work, it refused to recognize my har...

Re: Thunderbird problems in Mint.

Lol, I understand rambling replies. You can still run a U3 on a USB 1 slot. I don't have a USB 2.0 slot on my laptop and U3 drives run fine, maybe a little slow for my taste but I have high standards (talk about rambling... :)) The slipstreaming method should work (my dad tried it with a dual boot X...

Re: HELP: installing mint preconfig?

Yea, I've dealt with Ubuntu before too. But by preconfig. do you mean like the image file that has everything like Firefox, Thunderbird, Open Office, etc...?

If not then please elaborate...

Re: Thunderbird problems in Mint.

While I'm still relatively new to Linux Mint, I know a good bit about Ubuntu and I had a similar problem. One of the things I did was use a thumb drive that used the U3 system, downloaded a backup program that included mail backup, and ran it. I think the major problem that you will run into is that...

Re: Which Linux Version should i use?

I hope nobody else minds if I answer this, my level is one but I too went through this question (as did a lot of people I'm guessing) when I wanted to get Linux. I believe it depends on your preference, if you learned everything you know off of Windows and are used to running XP then I would run eit...

Network Card Troubles

I have 2 Network cards that I cannot (for the life of me) find the Linux drivers for.

One is an IBM PCMCIA EtherJet Ethernet PC Card...Pin Number: 72H4041

The other is the ever loved Belkin N1 Wireless Notebook Card Part#: F5D8011

I'm a bit new to the Linux world so can someone help!
