Hi, I'm using Linux Mint Mate 19.1. Re: Driver Manager

I'm running Version 5.2.18 of VirtualBox in Windows 10 host. Thank you for the info! So, if I understood correclty, since I'm running it in VirtualBox and already installed the guest additions, in this case there's no need to use Driver manager. I've chosen "do not use the device", restarted and re-...

[Solved]Driver Manager and VirtualBox (Linux Mint 19 Mate guest)

Hi, I recently installed Linux Mint 19 MATE in VirtualBox. I already installed the guest additions. Afterwards, i ran the driver manager and, given the options, selected to install "virtualbox-guest-x11" Now, if I run the Driver Manager, I get this screen: https://s33.postimg.cc/9qvzh3yi7/Capture.jp...

Re: How to make Java work properly

The sound is a little grainy but other than that no problems. It's been a while since I played a Mega Man game, thanks. Thanks for the feedback z1p101. That sound problem only happens running Java under Linux. I ended up installing VirtualBox with Windows 7. That way i can install and test differen...

Re: How to make Java work properly

I went to your site and the Mega Man game works for me on Mint 15/Firefox. It is most likely a browser setting on your end if the test page works. Try to change the security settings to allow everything, cookies, pop ups, etc. A security window opens for me and asks me if I want to run the game fir...

Re: How to make Java work properly

Ok, i have to take back my last statement. When using Java on Linux most of the times there are problems (graphics or sound corrupted, some games stoping). When using java on Windows, normally everything works fine. @z1p101 No, with openjdk games didn't even load. I went to javatester.org, and java ...

Re: How to make Java work properly

I've found out that the problem is not about java, but about some games not running fine with the emulator...
So Java is working properly.
Thanks.

MATE: use the gnome2 layout as default!

Hi, here´s my suggestion: Use the gnome2 layout as the default for MATE desktop. Because Cinnamon (and many many others) already have a big all-in-one menu. So, Mate with a all-in-one menu doesn't bring anything new. The classic "Applications", "Places", "System" layout is distinctive, and a importa...

Re:Disable startup notification saying that battery is broke

Ok, i've found out:

- Open Terminal

- Launch mateconf-editor

- Go to "apps" > "mate-power-manager" > "notify" > un-tick "low-capacity".
