Re: Cannot Install Wine - Held package??

Got it! I had previously uninstalled any packages associated with Wine (did a complete removal). Went into Synaptic - Settings - Repositories - Additional Repositories and found a PPA for Winehq /bionic. I unchecked it. Closed and reopened Syanaptic, found Wine-Installer 4.0.2 and it installed fine....

Hardware device does not show in Nemo but does in Terminal

I have a SpyderX device used to calibrate monitors. I cannot get Mint to recognize it. If I plug it into a USB Port, and run Terminal lsusb, it will give me the output: Bus 008 Device 009: ID 085c:0a00 ColorVision, Inc. But If I go looking for it in Nemo, it does not show up. What am I missing? Than...

Re: Argyll - how do I update to latest version

Doing a bit of poking around. I think the problem is the SpyderX is not being recognized, or it's a permissions issue. If I open Terminal and run lsusb, it shows the SpyderX location as: Bus 008 Device 008: ID 085c:0a00 ColorVision, Inc. But If I open the computer icon on the desktop, It does not sh...

Re: Mint 19 is driving me absolutely nuts

Thanks for the quick response!
I ran that in terminal and speech-dispatcher is set RUN=no
so it might be something else. I'll have to ask the wife if she was fooling round with any settings trying to get sound to work.
Thanks again.
