Re: More than two workspaces

For me, I found these hot corners to be an immediate nuisance. So now we have to use Expo to activate our workspaces and be careful every time we approach a corner with our mouse. Not the most brilliant thinking on someone's part. From the first day I thought that this was a bug that would be solved...

Re: Bug reporting/tracking needs improving

Agreed. There are so many layers of forums stacked upon forums that it's hard to find the best place to post for help. We need people viewing so we can help each other quicker.

Re: Update pack 6 chat/questions/support thread

Has nothing to do with arrogance. The very first post in thread says this is for the Update Pack 6. To post in this thread with questions. But that goes against the guideline recommendations that says to post a new thread for a new problem. That of course generated some confusion on my part and wast...

Re: Update pack 6 chat/questions/support thread

I thought this was a thread where maybe we could get some help fixing the problems in Update 6. My mistake apparently. For what it's worth, I tried to find why my root partition was full. The proc directory reports that it is 140.7TB in size. On a 110GB hard drive. Guess it's time for a wipe and ne...

Re: Update pack 6 chat/questions/support thread

The problem I am having is not being able to print. Temporary files cannot be created. The reason is, my Root partition is now full. That's a 10gig partition. I deleted what I could from the TMP folder but that made almost no difference. Not sure what to do about this. Something is hugely bloated, b...

Re: Fonts after upgrade

Thank You! Thank You! Ran it in a root terminal and rebooted. Looking great now. Thinking out loud about what I've just read when I followed GeneC's links... :D 1. Reconfiguring fontconfig-config just changes a few symlinks in /etc/fonts/conf.d to point to the appropriate (depending on what has been...

Re: UPDATE PACK 5 FEEDBACK THREAD

Jumping to the end of this thread and not surfing the other 12 pages, it would seem that everyone has a font issue. Somebody PLEASE!!! fix this! I thought by installing the True Type installer in Synaptic that it solved this issue. Apparently not.

Re: Fonts after upgrade

There has got to be an easy way to fix these stupid looking fonts! Something other than tweaking and frustrating ourselves for hours on end!

Re: Mint 13 LXDE. When?

There was a poll? Again, not needing to come to the forums I didn't see the poll or vote. How many others are happily computing trouble free and not visiting the forums? Ok, I understand all the reasons. But the poll was flawed because it only reaches those who visit the forum. Nothing is going to c...

Re: Mint 13 LXDE. When?

It was pointed out that other distributions have more activity in their forums. And that may be the leading factor in why no more Linux Mint LXDE. Did anyone ever think to consider that perhaps people having less problems with Linux Mint LXDE is a factor in less posting in the forums? No reason for ...

Re: What are your top tips for a Newbie?

The clock. You know, that digital clock applet down in the right corner. You have just downloaded Mint 12 LXDE and you are trying to figure out how to customize your installation. Hopefully you used the search function and it brought you to this post before you tried scanning page after page of back...
