Re: Toshiba L755 blank screen + dim screen

Same issue for me here as welll, using an AMD A6 APU on a brand-new Toshiba Satellite L755 laptop. I went and tried Linux Mint 11 as well, which does about the same thing... I'm really stuck here... I've tried compatibility mode, using the nomodeset -- input, but nothing works... Nomodeset boots to...

Well the work around worked, thanks! Not sure why I had to do this in the first place. I just wish these old Broadcom wifi adapters were better supported.

That sounds good. I don't know how to do this though - is it simple enough to tell me here or is there a guide somewhere? Thanks again.

Touchpad stops working in Mint 12

After an apparently random amount of time in Mint 12, my touchpad and buttons stop responding. The only way to recover them is with a reboot. The mouse has no problems. In Mint 11 the touchpad was perfectly fine. Any suggestions? :D

Re: Broadcom BCM4311 doesn't start unless I type modprobe b4

Have you tried to do this instead? Under the desktop menu System > Administration > Hardware/Additional Drivers, the b43 drivers can be activated for use. When I go there it shows that the driver is activated for use. Like I said, it works fine other than the fact that I have to use a terminal comm...

Broadcom BCM4311 doesn't start unless I type modprobe b43

I installed Mint 12, which finally worked after three failed installs. Then my wireless didn't work until I found a solution on this forum... But when I boot my computer up it doesn't work until I enter the following terminal command: sudo modprobe b43 It's pretty annoying to have to do this every t...

Re: Broadcom BCM4311 problems under Linux Mint 11

This worked for me, however I have to type 'sudo modprobe b43' every time I turn on the computer. The link says to: gksudo gedit /etc/modules ...and add b43 as the last item in the list, save, and restart. I did this but it didn't make any difference. This is Mint 12 by the way, did something change...

Is it just me or can nobody else actually see the wireless entry? do you happen to have a physical button on the laptop to turn the wireless on? maybe a keyboard short-cut perhaps? Re: System keeps on logging out

This happens to me as well on occasion. It's INCREDIBLY annoying. It happens on AC power when I'm typing and occasionally when I'm not typing but just surfing the net with only the mouse. I reinstalled Mint and it seems to be happening less but the problem is still there.
