I feel a little silly (I should have known better - to disable extensions, then check).
I was running the Windscribe VPN Browser extension that has a setting called "Worker Block": Blocks web workers from running in the background.
. . . forgot I had it there.

[SOLVED]Firefox On Linux Mint 21.3 - Not Updated Google Sheets.
I am running 21.3 and the latest version of Firefox [123.0 (64-bit)]. I have a simple petty cash spreadsheet. When I enter the data in each cell, nothing updates unless I refresh the page. If I use Chromium, it updates instantly. If I use Firefox on windows, it updates instantly. Any suggestion as t...

I wonder what the heck it was in the FF config file that was causing the problem....
Oh well. Thanks for the help.

[SOLVED] FireFox: Couldn’t sign you in This browser or app may not be secure.

Re: Password Not Working after Update. Reset @ Grub Menu not working
It seems, that your (virtual) drive is full and the system refuses because of this to log in. You have 2 options: Either increase the size of the drive or boot the VM with the live system and make room free. Yep. That was the problem. Removed some files to create room and we were good to go again. ...

Re: Password Not Working after Update. Reset @ Grub Menu not working
Interestingly enough, when I enter an incorrect password I get the Message, "Invalid Password, please try again" message - as one would expect. When I enter the correct one, I don't. The screen goes black for a second and then brings me back to the login page. Running VirtualBox 7.04 - jus...

Re: Password Not Working after Update. Reset @ Grub Menu not working
What does ls /home give? Ok, like a dummy I was not putting everything in Lower Case when I entered the UserName . . . however, after continuing to follow the instructions and getting a "Successful Password Update" message, rebooting and entering the password simply returns me to the logi...

[SOLVED]Password Not Working after Update. Reset @ Grub Menu not working
Hi Folks, I have a VM running 19.3 that just completed a Kernel update. I rebooted and the password is not working. The disk was getting full (~500MB's space left. Not sure if this was a factor). I found this reset process: https://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/339 When I follow that I get: ...

Re: Application Launcher Not showing the Telegram Icon
Thanks you for the informative reply; it's really appreciated. For fun I created a VM to recreate what I think I did before: Downloaded the tsetup.4.3.1.tar.xz file from the official site extracted it in position (downloads folder - not that that matters much) Opened the telegram folder and ran the ...

Re: Nemo copy process very slow and cripples machine
I recommend Double Commander as lightweight swift file browser. Copies quickly. sudo apt-get install doublecmd-gtk Thanks for the suggestions Pjotr, but I still can't get anything to copy TO a USB drive without it hanging. I've installed Double Commander, it shoots to 100% and then it just hangs fo...

Logitech G700 Pre-Programmed button now working wirelessly (Wired Works)
I have a Logitec G700 that has 13 programmable buttons (using the Logitech software). I've programmed them with specific key combinations and Key Strokes to expedite repetitive tasks. I've upgraded one of my OS's to Mint 20 (Cinnamon). I've noticed that when I am connected wirelessly that these prog...

Same Question. ANYONE ??? The way I see it, the problem of the original poster (and for me) is actually three problems: 1) Stupid implementation of write-cache for removable usb drives . Writing buffers are useful for hard disks, but it's a completely stupid thing to have for usb flash drives. It of...

Has anyone got a solution for this problem? Same computer, same USB, same USB port, same file being copied . . . the ONLY difference is the OS. Re: File transfer hangs for a long time before finishing
I'd like to +1 this . . . . I have been running into this issue for some time with mint (all through 19.x and if I remember correctly 18.3 as well). File transfer starts of fast, slows down, then stops at about 99% and just sits there and does nothing. If I wait a REALLY long time it MIGHT 'finish',...
