My Dell desktop is 13 years old now. Bought in 2007! Runs anything I throw at it.

I’ve only ever used Thunderbird in LM. I may give Evolution a try, though.

Re: Suspend Drains Battery

Any help appreciated, thanks! While I don't use Suspend, I suspect it's of the "to RAM" variety, where it would require some sort of power to preserve the session. Perhaps you're looking for a "to disk" version, that would not require power to preserve, which might be what Hibernate would offer? Al...

[Solved] Suspend Drains Battery

It was my battery! Replaced. Hello! My problem is that when I suspend, (or close lid), the next day my battery is dead. I have done a complete shutdown and the battery is still charged to 97% the next day, so I believe some resources are still being used during suspend? Dell Inspiron 17” AMD A8 12gb...

Coffee only here. I keep a big plastic container of Dunkin Donuts at all times. Original blend. Hot, black and strong.

Re: Is iPhone connectivity--via USB cable--gonna be a forever problem with Linux? (Any cabled solutions?)

Im using a Galaxy S6 phone and would answer yes to dumping crapple. I just connect the cable and I get a prompt to allow access from the computer and Iam all done. A directory pops up for my phone and I can whatever. Same here on my 6+ just connect USB cable, it mounts it and opens a documents fold...

Re: Desktop Would Suspend After Install - Now It Won't Suspend

I tried the 0-20 kernel but Cinnamon kept crashing. Try this, open a terminal and paste into below command: sudo update-initramfs -u -k all Reboot and retry kernel 4.15.0-20 Before I try that, I'll add that after I tried 0-20 and failed, and went back to 0-34, my box is sleeping again! Weird. Maybe...

Re: Desktop Would Suspend After Install - Now It Won't Suspend

I tried the 0-20 kernel but Cinnamon kept crashing. Back to 4.15.0-34. I'll wait until I hear from you about going up the list of kernels and trying them.

Re: Desktop Would Suspend After Install - Now It Won't Suspend

Looks like 4.15.0-20 is installed already, but it's using the 4.15.0-34 kernel. Shall I just move up the list? And once I hit the Install button, that kernel option will be in the Boot Menu? I haven't done this before as you can tell. Thanks again!

Thanks, but there is no 4.4 kernel available, just the 4.15 series.
