Can no one help with this at all? As an update, I installed MINT 12 and removed XP in the process. When the laptop first booted I could connect wirelessly as normal but after a reboot all the wireless networks had disappeared. I then reinstalled MINT 10 but still can't see any wifi networks. Right, I may have solved my problem myself.

Under Control centre > Network connections, click the wireless tab and select the network. Click edit and at the top there is a 'connect automatically' option. Tick it and I'm hoping it's sorted.

Sorry to bump this but I have the same problem. I can connect to my wifi network fine but need to do it every time I boot up. Can I do something to make the laptop connect automatically?
