Re: [SOLVED] Flash broke accross all browsers after update

None of the above fixes worked on Mint 9. Locking the version resulted in breaking Firefox. Downloading and installing libflashplayer.so file to etc/alternatives to overwrite the old libflashplayer.so file also failed and simply resulted in the Flash window to request download of plugin. All these ...

Re: [SOLVED] Flash broke accross all browsers after update

For the moment 11.2 is still the latest version so we don't yet have much problems with this Adobe + Chrome partnership. Flash is dying anyway with the advent of HTML5. Youtube already supports HTML5 for example if you don't have (working) Flash. HTML is a free and open standard unlike Flash which ...

Re: [SOLVED] Flash broke accross all browsers after update

I had a similar issue where the Mint Flash package needed updating from its 11.1.x 2011 version to the latest 11.2.x version. -"The flash player is the thing that isn’t updated automatically through mint updates, so after some time from system installation it might be quite obsolete. Go to Ado...

Greetings and welcome friend.
You'll find this to be an especially active forum.
And certainly you'll have no regrets in using LinuxMint alongside Windows.

Re: Why do new people give up on Linux?

Excellent reading and comments ladies and gentlemen.
So much so that I'm quite certain this is one instance where I personally have nothing to comment with reading as All or most of the bases have been covered accordingly.

Re: Dear Reader, To Whom It May Concern Or May Not Concern

I quite like puppy/slack version as well Kiss ok, but I also like DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) I've tried Puppy. It's satisfactory. Haven't tried the Slack version. Why? Too lazy to be so technical. And if you like DRY, have you tried the improved DRY1.1 version (Definitely Repeat Yourself)? I happe...

Re: Linux is Not Windows

Just as Linux-detractors don't want to hear about why Linux sucks, so should we not want to hear any excuses about M[essy]S[horts]. All that junk is part and parcel of the M[ostly]S[hoddy] experience. I'm sure I could go on and on, but you get the point. Leave it to the lawyers and carnival barkers ...

Re: Forum Rules, Guidelines, and Policy

LOLing...makes me wonder how long it'll be before I myself unintentionally break at least one of these rules.
Then again, a great deal of my own comments usually contain such vagueness as to be confusing as to whether or not it might be "on topic".
Let the rambling begin!
And so it shall.

Dear Reader, To Whom It May Concern Or May Not Concern

Greetings to One and All from The Presidential Nominee Of The Universe in general. It is with great honor and pleasure <evil cackle icon here> that I make my introduction. "Halbot, drum-roll if you please!" "Halbot?...lazy ass Bot!" Eh...do forgive my idle ramblings of th...
