I have found that the freezing is not related to Cinnamon. It must be related to the kernel since the freezing occurs with Ubuntu and Xubuntu as well under the same circumstances. I installed Xubuntu and found that it freezes too after a period of time while using a browser. So the freezing is not related to Cinnamon. It is not related to a browser either because it freezes while installing applications too.

The same freezing happens when I install Cinnamon on Ubuntu 12.04. If I use Ubuntu before installing Cinnamon then it work flawlessly.

I installed Cinnamon on Ubuntu 12.04 and it freezes it too. when I don't install Cinnamon Ubuntu works just fine. I am Using a Intel I5 with intel 4000 graphics. When I use an Nvidia 240 video card it freezes too.

The best thing to do is install Ubuntu 12.04 then install cinnamon. It works like a charm.
